How does VS850 compare to BG66UM/BG80? I currently have BG66UM on my MX80s but they lost tension FAST!

I got a couple of VS850s with my MX80s and would like to try these but it's between using these or getting BG80 on my racket.

I haven't tried the BG66UM but I think the 850 is really close to the BG80... BUT you need to do a PRE-Stretch... that way it won't lose the tension as fast as non-pre-streched 850s

The NS880 is a nice string - when it was first strung I wasn't to sure but now I really like it. My other favourite is the VS850!

Eric doesn't seem to carry black ones, sadly :(

How do the vs-850 fare compared to the nbg99 in terms of power and control?

I gave the VS850 another go at 30 lb today, and loved it all over again - piano-wire feel and really crunchy hitting sound. Yet again, though, the tension slid off like water down a shiny shovel. I really wish Victor could sort this out, as it's the only fly in an otherwise delightful ointment.

Ordering some violet BG80, so I'd like the VS850 in some more "amusing" colours as well.

at around US$4-5 a pop, you can cut and restring it every week!

I forgot about the price - you get a lot of string (metaphorically) for the money:). Sadly, the might of the £ against the $ is negated by getting the stuff shipped from dollar-country, barring excessive bulk ordering.

Had I the money (Friday's Euromillions is a possibility, and £126m would come in handy) I would most definitely have a fresh 32 lb VS850 racket every time I took to court.

Do we reckon Victor could be convinced to prestretch VS850 at 35 lb for 24 hrs at the factory before shipping? It might solve everything:).

Mark, have you considered or tried the zm65? Apparently it has excellent tension retention, and feel and repulsion may be comparable to vs850?

I love vs850 too, but the tension creep is starting to get to me.

Yup - Z65 went under the microscope very recently. It was, indeed, pretty hard, but was certainly a step below VS850 and the Vectrans. I've been told Z62 at 30 will destroy everything else in terms of feel, but playing with plastics...

With that stuff at 30lbs and plastics, there'll be no need for cutting - you'll have to restring every week! :D
