I believe if she is injury-free and goes to London with this kind of attitude and improved technical skils, she can win the gold and one of the obstacles in her way is Li Xuerui. Li Xuerui is more like a Frankenstein of LYB's design. She has the height, the reach of Wang Yihan, Wang Xin's agility and attacks and Wang Shixian's crosscourt slice drop. Wang Yihan is playing against a three in one player....she herself must believe she can do it!

Injury is the number one obstacle for WYH, LXR and LCW to obtaining medals at the Olympics. LYB is right in delaying the decision as to which three of the four should be sent to London until July. As LCW had shown, serious injury can happen in the eve of the Olympics. Lin Dan and Wang Xin on the other hand are much smarter. They are happy with World Ranking of No. 2 for a very very extended period of time. They will only go all out when it matters the most (eg, Thomas/Uber).

They showed a shot of LYB and the rest when WYH was down to the match points. No expressions at all. I think WYH got over her Uber ghost, but she is still a slow starter and prone to stress. As pcl said, LD, WX, LXR are not under the same pressure of having to live up to WR1.
If she lost that game, i think she would be banned from playing team events ever again. Just rely on Wang Xin, Wang Shixian and Li Xuerui. But she didn't..she proved everyone wrong in last seconds. Still I am not very happy with her performance cuz it revealed too many of her weaknesses. Apart from staying injury-free and fully fit, she has to improve her skills..they are quite vulnerable apparently
