Maybe I need more foresight? What other strings are you getting that you will like, so that I can ask you you to cut me set for a couple of quid?

Your opinion is very much anticipated, ice.[/QUOTE] Yeah, no problem, just waiting for my PP UPK to require restringing, after I can break the VS800! And I did try my hardest yesterday to break a string......... The VS800 is lasting well and still feels lively, but hopefully not for much longer.
VS800 is the Great Pyramids of strings... we were doing them at 33/33 for the Taipei boys in Birmingham and they couldn't break it. Just shove a kitchen knife through it and get cracking.
I have a big problem cutting strings out when they are still good (i.e. not broken and still holding good tension). I think it may even be against my religion! But I do want to try the Gosen...........Dilemma
I'm delighted that VS800 has lasted so long and you are enjoying the string. For me it's the dark horse of the Victor family and deserves a lot more recognition than it gets. That and NS880 are certainly worth testing and strings I always carry in stock. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
Another hard two hours of mixed play last night a still the VS800 is up for it! I was absolutely battering last night, and still cannot break the string... I will give it to the end of this week then make a decision, need to string it before the world Corporate games in Liverpool next week.
Glassy....? Please explain? Do you mean by glassy that it doesn't grip the shuttle ie for tumbling shots? Delicate I get.
The sound - very high and crisp - and the look. You'll see when you put it in. If you ever put it in. (It has very good grip, actually - right in BG80's face, in fact.)
Does it lose tension as fast as the BG66Maximas? That has the fastest tension loss I've ever experienced.
It loses quite a bit of tension in the first few hours, but "levels off" very flat after that. I think it keeps tension better than BG80.
Hah, now strung and ready to go........ Hopefully, going for a couple of hours tonight and I will let you know what I think. looking forward to it too.......
No, you can be the guinea pig, 27/29 is what I fancied for this one, and that's what I've gone with. I liked the VS800 with slightly less than my normal 30, so trying this the same way. I have plenty, so might try that later. Mine doesn't say "Gosen R4X110" every two inches, only every couple of foot? Have you been writing on it?
Ah, I see every couple of inch when on the racquet, sorry. But I see what you mean about glassy, and it's almost a blue-white colour.
The jury is out at the moment, mmmm, need more time with it I feel. Feels good, good power, good 'pinging' sound, not sure on the touch feel yet, as played mixed all night (not much net play). But good first impressions, and got the 'feel' of it straight away.
Now, just played another hour with it last night, half court singles etc. and I am now impressed with this string. Playability good, touch good, feel good and really can put the power through it. As good as BG80 (just as Mark A said) and has quite a unique look to it. Not sure about the tension loss yet, only been strung three days and played for three hours, so the loss seems to have 'happened' and not sure if it will lose much more. And at this price you cannot go wrong, might be tempted to try this a little tighter again!
