Thanks for the update. Your review is similar to OldHand's in that the Purple and Yellow Ti-10s are almost or exactly the same in terms of feel and play. And you are also correct about G5 bigger than old G5. I wonder if Yonex is responding to a younger generation with bigger limb sizes. However, the AT-900 P/T G5 is the same or about the same as the old G5. Strange indeed!
If both rackets are nearly identical, how can people be saying it's headlight? It's not, all 5 of my 3U Ti10s are relative hammers, 89.0-89.5g with a BP of 295-305mm. Not headlight at all, more like moderately endloaded.
I guess people are comparing the newer models of Ti-10s (yellow & purple) to the good ole one . Who knows!
Assuming the yellow and purple Ti10 are the same... ...Dan: please weigh your Ti10 and give us the BP. All the new Ti10s (yellow) I've tried are far from headlight. In fact they are moderately head heavy. Thanks.
Just measured my ti-10(yellow, 3ug5) again yesterday, and it's 297 mm. I was shure the old ti-10 had a bp up with the at700? For the record, my at900t's(3ug3) bp is 307 mm. And I don't feel that big a difference between the two racquets.
As requested... here are some measurements and photos of the Purple / Yellow Ti-10. Purple Ti-10 3UG5 Weight: 89g (bare racket with clear plastic) BP: 286mm Yellow Ti-10 3UG5 Weight: 89g (bare racket with clear plastic) BP:290mm
Thanks Dan! Unfortunately no more Ti10s for me. I got rid of all my yellow ones. The shaft was getting too flexy. One was cracked on the inside after two weeks of use.
mine yellow one 3UG5. BP 295 with original grip and without string. And surely it's a slightly head heavy.
BP stand for what? Balance POint? what's purpose to identified BP? How to consider a racquet is head heavy? thANKS for help
By measuring the BP (which indeed stands for balance point), you know if a racket is head heavy or head light. Example: If a racket is 675mm (standard length for most rackets), and the balance point is 305mm, then the racket is head heavy.
Ppl in china take them as 270-280mm is head light,280-290mm is head balance, over than 290mm is head heavy..
Just to clarify. What is the balance ranges for the following then? This is according ot Smitz! =) Head Heavy: 290-305mm Even Balanace: 280-290mm Head Light: 280-270mm Thanks
why is there a need for the head light and heavy ranges? if we define, say, 280 - 290 as being balanced, then anything below that is head light, and anything above that is naturally head heavy. personally, i think it has to be above 295 to be considered head heavy, but that's just me.
