Currently Using the VT70 as i could not get to grips with the ZF, this i think this is partly due to my style of play where i use alot of wrist and the ZF being extra stiff. Would this new Z-speed be a good alternative? Thanks in Advance
This is always hard to tell! Imho, everyone should always try a racket and find out whether it suits you. I can't tell whether you like the smaller racket head. Or the stiffness. Or... In principle, if you like the VT70, but miss something, I would say the new Z-speed is def worth a test. If you like it or not, you have to find out by yourself...
It Medium Flex but due to the thin Frame i get alot of whip due to my style of play but power wise its slightly lagging behind the AT700 i used to use.
Usually not available before commercial release so probably has to wait on that but maybe soon. I think this was posted by the same person. Seems he was stringing one up from the title of the thread
True, but I'd rather win with a super nice racquet than a crappy one That goes for...money isn't everything, but I'd rather cry in a Mercedes than on a bicycle.
But i remember someone used to say.. " If there are two Lin Dan, one with crappy bad racket, and another one with a very good racket..there's a high possibility or surely the Lin Dan with the good racket wins." - anon (will credit the person once I get to remember his name)
Any one know difference between Head Heavy Balance & Repulsion Power? ( VTZF&NS9900 ) correct me if i'm wrong.. Currently i use racket VT80&Woods 90II&A900P.
Yeah, and as soon as Koo and Tan switched to the Z-Speed, they started winning. Oh wait, no they didn't.
Koo and Tan have got one foot out the door (which is probably why they agreed to use the ZSP, actually - couldn't do any real harm).
Looks like some members on the badmintoncn forum already have it. Page not loading anymore but the head is smaller than an oval even and I believe he rated the stiffness below NS9000X, that's all I gathered (through googel translator of course) before the site became unreachable.
Up again. Seems he measured it at 297mm with plastic wrapper ... http://bbs.badmintoncn.com/thread-379088-1-1.html Another thread with a few pics of CH version: http://bbs.badmintoncn.com/thread-379123-1-2.html
I have this theory that the shape of the frame isn't the thing that dictates how fast a racket will swing. The aerodynamic drag from the strings essentially negates any aerodynamic properties of the frame. Essentially, there's not enough difference in modern frame design to make too much of a measurable difference, and as the frame needs to be aerodynamic in more than one direction, that makes it even more of a challenge. This is why we're seeing Yonex concentrate on making the head as small as possible whilst still retaining a regular string pattern. What really dictates how fast a racket will swing, is it's total surface area, including the stringbed and the shaft. A 10% reduction of surface area trumps a 10% reduction in frame drag.
