Yes, we miss the days of when Sigit/Chandra/Tony/Halim ruled MD. During Rexy/Ricky there were still Denny Kantono/Antonius. During those days, even when INA did not win Thomas Cup, the MD were almost certain to contribute 2 points, or at least 1.
During those days, if INA to meet CHN in TC, 2 points from MD is almost sure points while for all 3 MS can be 50-50. If INA to meet KOR, all MS were sure points, while MD can be 50-50.
Koh Herry IP must be relieved of Ahsan/Hendra's maiden victory today. The last time an MD pair from Pelatnas won a SS title was back in October 2009 when Kido/Hendra won the French SS beating Koo/Tan in the Final.
Paulus Firman now Malaysian MD coach Any comment ? Can he be successful coaching KKK/TBH. What do you have think about this hiring by BAM. He was fairly successful with Hendra/Kido before?
Kido/Hendra ?? as far as i know, Paulus Firman is former WD assistant coach... not MD.. Kido/Hendra was trained under Sigit Pamungkas... cmiiw
Rian/Alvent beat Ahsan/Afiat in Superliga. Alvent proved once again to be a reliable player in team event. Rian, I think should be splitted with Angga. Maybe after World Championship if they can not improve. So far Rian/Angga does not seem to perform much better than Ahsan/Bona in the past. Not very good for Thomas Cup 2014. I think with a good partner, both Rian and Angga have the potential to be in top 3 ranking Maybe should try with Ricky Karanda or Agripinna
Angga/Ryan head to head with Endo/Hayakawa is 1-3 Meanwhile Alvent/Ryan lost to Endo/Hayakawa in close 3 game in Superliga
I don't know if this was confrimed yet. But I read in twitter that Marcus Gideon Fernaldi resign from pelatnas. Is he officially out from pelatnas? or still in negotiating with PBSI? anybody knows? I think he have potential to become great player
based on @broedyanto tweet, I really can't wait to see the new form partner in MD one of my wish is, angga pratama/ricky karanda suwardi
A good start of the year by both young pairings of Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh and Ade Yusuf/Wahyu Nayaka A.P., especially the latter pair. The match between these 2 pairs in the Iran Fajr IC Final also showed how close their level are, with the match won by Ade Yusuf/Wahyu Nayaka 22-20 in the rubber-set. Both pairs competed in 8 tourneys last year: 3 home tourneys (Indonesia IC, SSP, GPG) 4 overseas IS/IC tourneys (Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, India) and 1 more GPG (India) This year, I think they will still be sent to Asian IC/GP/GPG tourneys mostly, starting with the Iran Fajr IC. Let's see if they can improve their rankings to be within the top 30-40 by end of the year. That should be the target for them considering both pairs should be within the top 60 by Thursday with the title and runner-up position won last Sunday. Possible tourneys for them: 3 home tourneys as expected (Indonesia IC, GPG, SSP) Vietnam/Osaka and possibly India ICs Vietnam GP, Thailand GPG, Malaysia GPG, and India GPG
poor agrippina, he has to start from scratch again... playing in Challenge level, while his level, is now in GPG and SS level. i really hope that hardianto can mature fast. Ko Herry IP choose Hardianto to pair with Agrippina. I believe, Hardianto has something good. although i still think that Ade Yusuf will be the appropriate player to be pair with Agrippina
has anyone read Kompas today? There is a news (in the sport columns) whereby Herry IP is being interviewed concerning the policy, strategy and wishes for Indonesian MD
