Do you think the tension loss is caused by the difference in gutting Style or pattern. I think your next experiment should be about gutting patterns. I mean which pattern is more sustainable for String Tension.
Many things affect tension loss. There can be: - Pre-stretch or not - Stringer technique - Knots used - String used - The player (Hard hitters will most likely find that their stringbed loses tension faster) - etc. The pattern does have an effect, but I don't think it's a big difference. I'll happily do the test when I get to string these rackets again (I'm cutting one string bed and broke my old one's strings during a tournament this weekend). I will be using 2 knots vs 4 knots. Not going into the fancy haribito stuff
Do You know any good & cheap tool to test the string tension. So that I also can do some excrement on my customer's rackets. Right now I am just collecting stringing data from the log book. From there I can estimate how much a string lasts for particular player & particular tension & strings.
You can buy a fishing scale to calibrate your machine, but there are no tools to directly test your string tension. If fact, there is one, it's from a japanese website and I've never got any answer from them.
