    Now it's prize money?
This is turning into Wheel of Fortune.:)

If there is concern about senseless and one-word posts filling up the pages of BC as the millioneth post approaches, there is a simple but not so sexy, option.
Pick the winner randomly from all members signed in on the day of the millionth post. That way there would be no advantage to posting more than once on that day, and no disadvantage for worldwide members who might be asleep at the magic turnover.

that's my concern also. an better alternative would be to guess what time the 1,000,000th post gets made. everyone just pick a time&date. as everyone will pick a different date, there will be no rush for anyone to make junk postings.

    Junk postings are irritating

    .
kwun are you sure you want to do this: Guess what time&date the 1,000,000th post gets made? .

We will need a big listing/spreadsheet, listing all the times&dates as we receive from our 32,758 BCers (that is, if they are all entering). :D:D:D

However, I agree with you... Junk postings are irritating.

here is my proposal to resolve cheating, junk postings, filtering work by kwun, changing the contest to guessing day and time, etc and still retain the original goal of awarding the 1,000,000th posts fairly. I suggest the following:

when the post count reach 975,000, Kwun remove the count display on BF. After that only kwun will know when is the 1,000,000th post and he will announce the winner later. This could occur before, during or after the olympic but it doesn't matter, the 1,000,000th post event will occur naturally. Kwun don't even need to track post count daily since the winner is the winner on record in the server, even if kwun is busy and delay checking when actual post count reach 1,000,555. Kwun can turn back the post count display on anytime after announcing the winner

hmm, that is a good idea. Also, I too think that a drawing should be done and the winner should be picked randomly.

The more prizes available, the more ways Kwun can award them. :)

Kwun is a good sport to be entertaining this project.
Cooler's idea seems simple and sensible.

I don't have much worthwhile stuff to donate, but I'm willing to wire funds to kwun towards suitable prizes. (if he's willing to take on that end of the project)

1,000,000 posts is a waste of time. Lets nature run its course. Why fight for it?

It's for fun, you know, a bit of a laugh. If kwun is cool with it, why not? For me personally, it's no big deal but if it generates excitement for others, let 'em enjoy it. :)
