From the video, Bodin catches Jongjit's shirt in mid air as he jumps over the advertising board, he then lands on Jongjit and proceeds to punch him (which you can hear crisply) and kick him until eventually they are separated. Jongit, somehow loses his shirt and walks away with Pakkawat (Bodin's partner)

I'm very interested to see what BWF will do here and further more, what punishments the Thai badminton association hand out. Associations can withhold entries of players that aren't in good standing with them, and as Bodin already left, the relationship between the association and himself must already have been shaky. Also, the video is pretty much conclusive evidence of Bodin Issara actually being forced out of the Thai camp instead of the "injury/looking after mother" excuse which was given earlier in the year.

Such a shame, Bodin/Jongjit was such an exciting pair that had the genuine potential to go to the top. Their split and now this is really sad.

The *smack!* sound could be heard very clearly. Bodin really didn't hold anything back.

Man, this sucks. Big time. Expect this vid to be new internet meme soon.

...and madbad thought it would be boring and uninteresting this year...

There must have been something very personal festering though, for them to have a go at each other in public. It won't do either of them any good, that's for sure.

Yeah, bad temper by both of them. Issara/Jongjit is the best THA MD but we will not see this pair again.

Well, disappointment for NED as their shuttlers failed in three finals yesterday. HKG XD Lee Chun Hei/Chau Hoi Wah won second title in two consecutive weeks. Two titles for Thai players, 1 title each for CHN and MAS in WD and MS category respectively.

Will CBC do? It's only the same video however, that they've "borrowed"... ;)

Really i don't have words to explain.. It seems like boxing competition.. Really a bad news, which is going to be written in the history of badminton. I like bodin's style of play a lot. Now, he spoiled his career by himself. Very very disappointing.
Personal problems should not be dealt in the way they have did. They were like very close friends i guess. Now, it seems like they are two best enemies.
Within one or two days, we can see BWF's announcement about the incident and corresponding punishments..
I feel very very sorry for the both.. They spoiled themselves.. Nothing to say much..

The sports world will soon be talking about Canada and more specifically the Canadian Badminton Open or "Free For All".

In the midst of all the "chaos" TCS quietly tucked away his priceless maiden GPG title with fond memories of the win in unusual circumstances that astounded the sports world.

His victory over the more experienced and higher seeded Eric Pang in 3 games must have been so sweet and memorable!

    Congrats to "monkey" TCS.

At this time, you will no longer be able to view the video from Badminton Vancouver's facebook page. Its been taken down at the original source and Badminton Vancouver will not be re-posting it up onto its own page.

[h=1]From Richmond Olympic Oval and before the spectators' eyes, a huge fist fight broke out at Canada Open 2013 Badminton Men's Double Final this afternoon, where both teams were representing Thailand.[/h]

METRO VANCOUVER -- Shuttlecocks were traded for straight jabs Sunday afternoon at Richmond’s Olympic oval as the doubles finals of a world-class badminton tournament turned into a fist fight between two former partners who had represented Thailand together in London last summer.

Fans at the Canada Open 2013 shouted in disbelief when Bodin Issara dropped his racket mid-match and chased Maneepong Jongjit into the neighbouring court, throwing haymakers onto his former playing partner until coaches and tournament staff pulled the two apart.
A stunned Jongjit rose from the floor shirtless while a fuming Issara was cornered by others.
A video of the spat was being shared rapidly on Facebook and YouTube by Sunday evening.
Both the players teams were immediately disqualified and Issara required two stitches to his ear, according to tournament medical staff. Badminton Canada has yet to decide if the two who fought will be further penalized.
At the start of the match, the two were warned by the ref for a verbal exchange.
As recently as this January, Issara and Jongjit were ranked one of the best duos in the sport before the former announced his surprise retirement to look after his ailing mother and because of an injury and personal reasons, according to the Bangkok Post. Issara soon started competing again with another partner and an online badminton magazine cited his dissatisfaction with Thailand’s training facilities as the real reason behind his temporary retirement.
Richmond RCMP were on the scene, but no charges have been recommended to Crown as of Sunday evening.

Incidentally, there appears to be a lot of coverage in the Thai media, as well.

There's a longer video now posted showing the chair throwing, chasing around the 2 courts and the eventual black card from the umpire. It will be on CBC tonight.

Because of this, Canada Open thread will beat US Open thread easily.

Bodin might have career in MMA or Muay Thai boxing after retiring from badminton. Maybe even more successful career and if he did well, he will be known as ex-badminton Olympian and so badminton will get even more famous( or infamous)
