    Out Of Topic:
I'm still wondering if the big-4 retired at the same time ( After OG 2012 )

maybe badminton MS won't be as thrilling to watch as this time.. :D *IMO*

    On Topic:
I think either side will find it difficult to retired..

China maybe has the replacement for Lin Dan, but they are risking their strength in MS if they ask LD to retired, bcoz i think up until now, no one is stronger than LCW except LD.. *from LD fans point-of-view*
so, I don't think they will ask LD to retired if LCW is still around..

Malaysia don't have the replacement for LCW ( As far as i know ), asking LCW retired = bye bye any of MS title..

So, in the end, i hope those two can stay at least until they are 30-31.. :)

But LCW will get a lot of bashing if he can't win.

i think definetly both TH and PG will the 1st of our fantastic four in 1997-2012 era MS bdmntn will retire after OG2012...

for LCW,if he lose in WC n OG 2012, i don't think he will retire soon, coz maybe he still want winning big tournament like WC or OG before he retire....

in case of LD, maybe he will retire after OG2016.... coz he still in good shape,n still #1 chinese MS.... his stamina, his game can still improve, he is still 28 years old this year... still young n maybe still want to OG gold medal again....

OOT : there's still 1,5 year for young MS like CJ,SS,CL,SDK,DHR,KT,etc to improve their game if their want to be contender to win OG2012 out of fantastic four -> maybe i think TH n PG definitly can't win this tournament because their stamina....

    OK here's the inside scoop...

Taufik is secretly waiting for both those pests to retire after OG2012. LCW is just one major breakdown away, and LD has little Lins on his mind. Then he (Taufik) will have a clear run to the #1 ranking, as well as another couple of WC titles, AG singles gold and probably, the OG2016 gold. Meanwhile, he's just keeping a low profile and keeping his ranking going in around the top 5. Just staying in maintainence mode.

So now you guys know the truth...

Meanwhile, pass the salt-shaker around, won't you...

I work full time as a govt engineer, working middle class for sure, makes just enough to send my kids to college, taking a holiday here and there, nothing extravagant and mind my own business...in Canada, we called ourselves 'redneck' and 'Joe 6-pack' hahaha!!!....I also do consulting engineering work for the oil and gas private sectors, i.e. self-employed;).

Put earplugs on, down a couple of beers, who cares about bashing....if win, count US$ and laugh all the way to the bank in GTR or bimmer. Life is good.

    Welcoming Ethan_Er to BadmintonCentral !!!

    .
    Hi Ethan_Er,

    Welcome to BadmintonCentral !!! :):):)

    Here is what was reported on Thursday 16-June-2011;

China's Olympic badminton champion Lin Dan insists he has no plans to follow rival Lee Chong Wei into retirement after next year's London Olympics.

"So long as the national team does not kick me out, I will play on," Lin was quoted as saying in Thursday's China Daily.

Sounds like LD is waiting for LCW to retire so that he can get his No. 1 status back. :)

I think Lin Dan is enjoying his Badminton

    .
    You think so? :):):)

I read Lin Dan's comments as if he is saying that he is enjoying his Badminton like Peter Gade and Taufik Hidayat.

He said "So long as the national team does not kick me out, I will play on".

The 'national team'?; I am sure that he is referring to LYB. :):):)

But seriously speaking, IMHO, there won't be any CHN player who could topple him in the next few years. Therefore, I think Lin Dan will still be around with us for some time.

do not think he really care of ranking now. I think he only focus on WC , olympic and thomas cup , sudiman cup. If he can won all those team events, he will not be kicked out of national team and still earn big money. I think he earn more than 1 million dollars per year.
