By Ray Thomas The Daily Telegraph June 17, 2012 PETER Moody concedes he is taking the biggest punt of Black Caviar's career by putting her unbeaten record on the line at Royal Ascot on Saturday. But the trainer was quick to add the mighty mare did not need to win the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes to stamp her greatness. Moody said Black Caviar was as fit as she had ever been and was confident she would make it win number 22 before Queen Elizabeth next weekend (Saturday 23-Jun-2012). "The mare looks super ... if we are this happy on Friday we are going into the race with no excuses," Moody said. "I'm really hopeful not to to make a mug of myself or my horse." ====== * ====== parts of article ====== * ====== .
just wondering...does anyone know when exactly lcw started to dominate ms wr1? i'm very sad coz today he'll lose it...as the ranking will be updated anytime soon hopefully he would be able to regain that position in just few months
now it's updated

1 1 CHN LIN Dan 50906 93313.4114 15 Asia China

2 1 MAS LEE Chong Wei 50152 91898.7300 15 Asia Malaysia

3 CHN CHEN Long 75787 82460.3161 17 Asia China

4 CHN CHEN Jin 51592 71292.9100 20 Asia China

5 DEN Peter Hoeg GADE 6926 64682.2423 16 Europe Denmark

^^all those blood, sweat, tears & effort by LCW and..^^ there you have it folks...shall we close this thread?..
..and the answer to the title thread is NO. Very sad ending...from 04-06-2009 07:53 PM and after 64 pages and 1087 posts.
Erm guys who is CHUNG JAE SUNG? And finally LD is back to #1 normality has been resumed, dies this make him #1 seed at the Olympics?
No they will refer to the latest cut taken from the last day of the qualification period. Lin Dan will still be relaxing in the second seed half. More pressure for LCW as a No.1 seed
I think only the Malaysian care about the ranking as they are the only one as far as i know dish out bonus for topping the lists. as the system is gear toward being there rather than winning its no wonder many of them got burnt out/injuries by chasing those extra money
really? in 2004,2005 and 2006 lin dan fans always show off his world number one because taufik won the OG,wc and ag. but when ld won og and lost the world number one,lin dan fans show off the OG and wc to lee chong wei fans hehe thats how the things goes around
We can still say that no one came forward to challenge Lee Chong Wei, but...... . Yes, this thread lasted some years (reaching almost 11 hundreds posts). And, with only 5 weeks before the Olmpics, we can still say that no one came forward to challenge Lee Chong Wei as World No.1, but it was LCW who lost the position because of his injuries. The comment made as the opening post was; .
I beg to differ. Maybe not challenge the WR1 position per se, but plenty of players have came forward and put up a credible challenge to LCW since 2009. Most recently by Shon Wan Ho in the India Open, but also by Chen Long towards the end of 2011, and as always, Lin Dan.
I think Lin Dan won't mind being WR2 as long as he wins most of the major titles, after all he has been WR1 before. As for Lee CW, I think he would gladly trade places with Lin Dan in return for winning a few major titles,if possible.
he didn't lost the top spot because of injuries as both him and Lin Dan skipped the INA and Singapore. he lost because of the quality of his top 10 points, the different between winning and runner up.
Hmm.. I didn't know that, thanks for the info. If rewards and bonuses are based on ranking not just titles won, then the players will naturally push themselves to win every match to keep or increase their ranking points, hence the need to play so many tournaments resulting in burnouts or higher injury risks.
CHN have been more concerned in being World No.1's for their teams . IMHO, CHN have been more concerned in being World No.1's for their teams, but not for their individual players. CHN have been World No.1's in their Men's, Women's and Mixed Teams almost continuously for many years. This week, we can also understand that CHN won't be concerned that CY/FHF have dropped from their World No.1 position. .
