According to the chart, it seem more headlight than NS9900 and it also comes in 4U weight.

The 700 number suggest perhaps a Nanoray 900 in the future? :D

The NR700RP and 700FX is stated as intermediate racquets whereas the NR500 for beginners. Very likely there would be an advanced version of the NR series similar to the order they released the Voltrics.

Both RP and FX stated to have the X-Fullerene like the 9900 (and later NS models). FX also stated to have the Toughlex (like ARC9FL) which I guess should provide a little more "hold"?

I love this little loop Yonex has gotten in over the years, the marketing starts with:
1)"achieve amazing power with the heavy armortecs"(and who cares about defense, right?)
    2) then it's "fastest rackets ever!" with the nanospeeds (and head heavy stuff is suddenly not that hot anymore)
3)"amazing new materials" and head-heavy stuff with the arcsabers (what? speed? nah...)
    4) and all of the sudden we can have our cake and eat it too "world record smashing with the fast and powerfull arc-Z" (which btw, we never heard again how incredibly fast people smash with like a VT70/80)
    5) Then we were back to the "omg you can smash so hard with the new Voltrics!" and not a peep about "speed"
    6) back again to the nanospeed-slogans....

I don't know what I find more fascinating, the fact yonex so carelessly flips around their own words, or the fact people still get excited over it...

I'm guessing these are still the mid-end ones and that the high-end Nanorays will be announced later..

It has been the trend yeah: 700, 7000, 7 ... 700 ;). I believe the NR800 has been mentioned in the early rumours which should obviously succeed the NS8000 as the NR500 does the NS5000(/4500/5500 :D)

Yep - YY aren't daft: they know there'll be people who buy the "7" series just because it's new, and will then buy the "9" series later. I'm waiting for the Extra Stiff ones (unless Paul can arrange a test session for the low-end versions:D).

Haha yeah but in the end does the marketing have any reach at all outside of perhaps the Yonex sponsored tournaments and these "fanboy" forums? I mean when is the last time anyone has seen a Yonex commercial on tv and what percentage of active players even know more than two foreign pro's? :D

    "2011/08/22
    GET READY FOR SPEED

In 2004, the revolutionary YONEX technology NANOSCIENCE introduced nanotechnology into the world of badminton. The NANOSPEED Series - with cutting-edge FULLERENE built into the frame and shaft - then supported players as the game was accelerated further by the Rally Point System.

In 2011, the relentless advances in the sport of badminton now demand a further breakthrough in racquet technology. The result is NANORAY - a new and technologically advanced racquet which delivers fast handling and high repulsion, responding to high-speed rallies with lightning fast movement.

NANORAY Series are composed of 700 RP, 700FX, 500, 80 and 20. The secret behind NANORAY’s exceptional performance is a unique head construction featuring YONEX’s new AERO Frame structure where the frame sides vary in thickness between the top and bottom of the head. The thinner top of the frame sides minimize air resistance for greater head speed, while the thicker sides at the bottom of the head generate maximum repulsion through greater frame stiffness."

Looking forward for these but the comparison illustration in the catalogue to show they are thicker at the bottom, they kinda look ugly.
