Have been mainly using zymax strings for the past year. ZM67 gets around 6 weeks. Looking though my records, BG80 gets around 4-6 weeks.
Eepak: This Panda finally spent some time and tried all the new ZM62 MK2 and have to agree with you, MK1 plays better than MK2 but MK2 has significantly better durability. Panda tested all the same rackets twice at two different tensions: 30lbs. and 31.5lbs. First set-up, same rackets, the Precision Pro, all strung with ZM62@30lbs. Though the string was excellent, the MK2 didn't feel as crisp nor as repulsive as MK1. Power is still excellent but the crisp feel just isn't there. The color didn't make a difference, red, yellow, white, they all felt about the same but they were more durable. Panda had quite a few mishits that would have broke MK1 for sure. Anyway, Panda wanted to get the same crisp feel as MK1 and was thinking maybe his new stringing machine was not stringing as tight, so he cut all three strings and strung all three rackets at 31.5lbs to see if it was the stringing machine. For reference purposes, Panda also strung up another racket with BG65 at 34lbs. and it felt great... ...at 31.5 lbs., yes the string bed is now tighter but power was significantly reduced because ZM62 is now at or near its max yield point (elastic limit). Still, it did not feel as crisp nor as repulsive so Panda concluded it's definitely not the stringing machine; especially when BG65 at 34lbs. was good, what it was supposed to feel like. It has to be the string. So, a slight but significant decrease in string performance for a very significant increase in durability. Is it worth the trade-off? It depends on the person. To the regular consumer, probably yes. To the badminton player looking for the best performing string, regardless of durability, probably not. For this Panda, kinda up in the air. Will continue to try 31+lbs...
The zm65 and zm 62 are both the same thickness cmiiw but the zm62 has better playability at the expense of durability right? So it plays more like a thin string? Am I right to say this? I'd try both but the store I buy from only allows me to buy 3 at a time (of the same string). Erm edit: just checked zm62 is thinner string my bad.
don't find the 62 to be bad at all in terms of durability. Have had it for about 3 weeks. I play Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun. (at least 2 of those days are practice / training) Not sure how much court time I have, but at times I'd probably have about 2 hours of court time when it's really empty or when I'm training with a buddy. Had some smash mishits so bad I SWORE I'd see string snappage but that isn't the case. So it's either the string is super reliable; I don't generate enough power, or a combo of both Racquet is PPro @ 24 lbs. I suspect the tension is still low enough to be fairly forgiving on the hits near the top of the racquet hence why nothing has happened.....yet.
Im a fan of zymax65 now. Having red 26x28 lbs on MX80 and yellow 26lbs on BS LYD. Luv the feeling compare to VS850. It does take few session to settle in and then fun all the way Gonna stick with it for a while. Too bad there is no black color.

I'll have to try the black ones - IME, black tends to play the best (or among the best) of all the colours of a particular string. Pity it's such a pain in the arse to string with. There's definitely something wrong with the red Zymaxes, IMO.
how are black strings pain in the arse to string? i think imma return my red zm67s to ashaway in exchange for some other color zm65s... any thoughts? they do last long tho if not mishit
Harder to spot misweaves... in fact, harder to see anything at all, really. Z67 has always been the "odd one out" for me; certainly worth giving Z65 a try. I'd go for yellow or black.
Hi, I just get to know Zymax 65 and Zymax 62. I realized that most of the bc-ers get their orders from MBS and Stringerworld. I wonder which one of them provide faster shipping as MBC is using registered airmail while Stringerworld is using royal airmail. And I go through some of your comments, I concluded that Zymax is rather a string for pro player. I'm using vtzf and I'm still learning to avoid the mishitting. Currently, I'm using bg66um and somehow bg66um is able to sustain the mishit and it doesn't snap.
ZM65 black looks sexy on my spare racket (apacs z-slayer), just a shame the dumbass stringer damaged my paint.
^^ cosmetic paint chip is easy to fix... just use matching colour nail polish... and don't ever go back to that stringer again.
Just ordered 4 sets of Zymax 70 today from Stringers' World for £17.16 (27.90USD), including delivery. I'm expecting them to arrive in the next couple of days. I had switched to the BG80 and whilst I think it is a great performer, I find the durability a bit suspect at times. Hopefully the Z70 with address that issue.
