Yeah go with the 65 if you already have it. Takes some time to adapt to P Pro as it swings quite fast . I'd say faster than an equally spec MX series.
I'm kinda tentative to get into the ZM-62 knowing by string breakage record with thinner strings. However since I am going to need to restock on strings soon, I may give it a try. I think as an every day string, the ZM-65 does a fine job. TTYS
VS-850 is a really nice string but as everyone knows, it loses its tension pretty quickly. I had a big problem with breakage with this string. I didn't find it forgiving on mishits. As far as generating power, you might find you need to readjust your swing to get the most from the MX80. If you have a more "arm" type swing, it's not going to get you the most out of this racket.
usually yes... but strange thing about p pro is that the sweet spot is bigger so you can string tighter and zm62 v.2 is quite elastic like bg66um so tighter is still repulsive.
no wonder with the zymax62 back about 18mos ago @ 24lbs i noticed a drop in power, even just simple clear shots. now i'm just dying to buy my first mx80 with zymax 62 @ 22lbs
Gotta warn you first...mx80 is crazy stiff... much stiffer than yonex extra stiff, making it very demanding. Not recommended if your usual tension is low 20's as that indicates low hand speed. You'll only cause shoulder injury with prolonged use. Just get the P Pro or Revelation like I said! And yes zm62 v.2 is more supposedly more durable and elastic than previous. But IMO don't string thin strings lower than 24 otherwise it feels strange like hitting with a fishing net.
Dont string the ZM62 higher than 26lbs either....it'll hurt your wallet worse than stringing softer/using a different string hurts your game
Yah ~ had a nasty experience with ZM62 v.1 on BS LYD It snapped right after restring during warm up mishits Back to ZM65 now and still it feels pretty good for both MX80 n BS LYD Having Lining AP62 26/28 on my MX80 now after 3 mths or so on ZM65
is there any new batch of mx80? my first mx80 had a phrase "developed by victor taiwan" at the side of its shaft... and my recently bought mx80 had a different phrase on it which said "made in taiwan"... does anyone have any info on this?
The 2nd batch released last year is the same wording as you had. Even the new model some already changed the bottom cap too (with Taiwan wording like old time) ------------------------------------------------- Jyno Hi Badminton Online http://www.facebook.com/HiBadmintonOnline
Juz checking if MX80 is strung using conventional 76 hole method with 2 side lines missing, does it have any impact on the frame or playability ?
If you string with 2 knots without left and right, still okey in conceptually because I never tried before. Without top and bottom okey. If you string with 4 knots, you have to think where you tight the 2 bottom knots, if you tight outest, the middle you have to add more lbs. if you tight 2nd outest and 4th outest, you will need to add 4 knots lbs to hold it tight, but I believed very fast it will lose tension.
My MX80´s painting on the shaft ending dissolves. Obviously it is because of the adhevise grip (I use frottee grip from victor). Is this normal or rather bad painting quality?
I'm used to that from all kinds of rackets. How quickly it happens depends a bit on both the paint quality and your luck (sometimes you just get a bad one...), but usually, it just happens at one point. Victor rackets have been rather durable in that regard for me, others lost the cone paint quicker. Although to be entirely honest it's rare for a Victor to make it longer than 12 months as they get used so much.....my 18 months-old Bs10s are still going strong though.
