Good fight from Firda so far, we often talk about her poor footwork, but beside that she really need to train hard how to use backhand it will help her to save some more energy because she doesnt need to move all around the court just to use her forehand. go firda you are so close to the second round. Keep fight !!!

Bad draw this time, since Firda got PMD from q-rd and she was not originally pit vs WYH.....:(

Not your day, Firda. At least you have played 57 minutes against WR #1
    WYH 19-21, 21-15, 21-16

Chen Jin should just learn to let go and he may very well surprise us this time, hope so, don't under-rate or write him off just yet. Chen Long, I believe, will go all out to win this tourney, if only to prove a point bearing in mind his two archrivals are not here to pose any obstacles. At the same time, I don't suppose he would want to "help" Chen Jin anymore, it may be too little too late, better to let nature take its course than "sacrifice" himself needlessly with the OG qualification cutoff date so near, 29th Apr. Am looking forward to Chen Long - Lee Hyun-il semi-final. The other SF a bit difficult to predict, probable prospects are , I think, JOJ, Darren Liew, Taufik,Chen Jin, Du PY,Shon WH.

The WS lineup is very strong for a GPG event, worthy of a Super Series; with the exception of LXR and Wang Xin,practically all the top players are here, amazing, thanks largely to the London OG. Going by the form book , I'd expect Wang YH to take the title. The other Wang (SX) will certainly want to perform well too, given that their fellow junior LXR has risen so much as to challenge their standing. Well,WSX's first hurdle is problematic, Tai-phoon(!);unlucky her, just like in the AE draw where her 1st round opponent was nemesis, Chen SC.

Yeah, she took 1 game from the World Champ, not bad lah :D

She meet Ratchanok once again and also lost in same fashion, straight-sets only...
Btw, Wang YH vs Minatsu tomorrow, sounds interesting showdown sis since this young Japanese had defeated two Wangs before (Xin, Lin) and pushed Wang YH to the limit at their first meeting in HKG SS last year ;) Will Minatsu create a huge upset this time?

Yes, I can't even see any good result from Yippy after she won the EAG WS title in 2009. lol... Last time I thought she could play better because there are WC and ZM in HK team.

Haha... WYH v. Minatsu, I have no comment. But I expect a great match from both of them, WYH should prevail. :D

Even Yip PY had scored high achievement in Asian Games arena, being silver medalist for Doha Games 2006, beat Zhang Ning at that time, then she can't maintain her good form...
Don't worry three tough games possibly between Wang YH v Minatsu ;)

Aiyo, PG gave walkover. His leg injury more serious than what we thought I suppose

Aunty Yao Jie still has what it takes to overcome a promising younster,Sindhu, who is almost young enough to be her daughter, not bad.

Gu Juan beat Petya in two straights, hope she can progress to the semi.

Porntip's bad patch continues, losing to Judith Meulendijks, ranked much lower than her.

In the toughest first round draw, WSX eliminated Tai TY in two sets, where a defeat of either one is regretful

Wow, Angga/Ryan, 4th INA MD, just win over Liu Xiaolong / Qiu Zihan, 4th CHN MD
I thought Angga/Ryan will not take it after lost 2nd set, and trailing 2-7 in 3rd set.

Hope Angga/Ryan keep their mentality high in this tournament.
Wish they help Kindra tomorrow, by beating (most probably) JPN #1 Hashimoto/Hirata ~an uphill task

Felt bad for Sindhu actually. Should have won the game but she just gave it away in the tight moments. I guess Jao Jie's experience counts here! Also, how young is Sindhu!!!! This las is just 16 and at 5 feet 10 must surely be one of the taller girls on court. Hope to see more of her in the years to come!

I guess WSX must have heard all the BC grumblings that she could be odd woman out of the CHN OG WS. Pulled up her bootstraps to demolish Tai-phoon 21-12, 21-14
