I usually play with nylon shuttle(MAVIS 500),my racket is voltric 5..so tell me if i mishit the shuttle i.e. the shuttle hits the frame of my racket den will it cause any damage to the racket or not?
Even a feather shuttlecock can do that to a racket frame. But I'm guessing that it would be more likely if you play with plastics as they weigh more. If not your frame, at least you strings will wear down faster.
i find grip also to be an important factor in racket lifespan. I used to have a NS9000s that I used exclusively for 2 years with a towel grip for most of that time and one day the handle snapped. I'm guessing moisture built up and degraded the wood?
My Armortec 800 Def lasted a good 7 years or so, only recently put a crack at 12o'clock That's from being strung at 24lb and and playing mainly with plastics, minimal clashes.
I had a Yonex widebody 30 and a pro kennex keron 1500. Had it for 20 years. I can actually see more paint chips on the frame from clashes than the paint itself and it never broke. When we were kids we didn't know the value of $ so we didn't really take care of our rackets. But I recently traded them in for li ning's 50% promotion. It served me well for 20 years.
if you are a high powered player OR strings your racket 24lbs above AND playing and strings regularly. 1 year tops for any racket.
