To Panda, they all place similarly so far in the testing. Should be, the frames are basically identical, just the shaft difference, BP and weight. Best guess right now the fully woven shaft recovers a bit faster but the other shafts maybe hit a bit harder. Tonight was just informal hitting, playing. Panda will do a formal test Friday night so stay tuned.
Panda truly feels it's you getting used to the racket and hitting in the sweet spot more consistently. The Precision or just about any other quality racket should not have vibration if hit in the sweet spot. As stated before, even the best racket will have vibration if you consistently miss the sweet spot.
The 6 Revelation Prototypes are all heavier, the lightest being ~87.5g, BP288 to the heaviest, 91.7g, BP294. But for some reason, they felt lighter than the stated specs. Everyone agreed. Panda has weight and balanced all 6 rackets 3 times and each time the numbers were within 0.1g and 1mm so Panda knows the specs are correct. Yet, some how, again, the rackets play lighter. So, as of right now, if you are using an ~83g, BP285 T2, you should try an ~85, BP285 Revelation. This may change though. The results are not final, just an initial impression.
I will stay tuned and I will consult with you again when final decision regarding used materials for shaft will be picked.
It's definitely not because of the strings. The higher the tension, the harder the impact on mishits, but there's not vibration. It's always because of either a mishit which causes the racket to vibrate or because of a crack or manufacturing fault. In this case, I bet it's mishits - that will probably diminish after about 3-4 hours of play with the racket. Yep, totally agree with you on that. While higher quality rackets tend to have less vibration on mishits (higher torsional rigidity and better materials), the weight is also an important factor. The heavier the racket, the less it'll vibrate (mass inertia and all). While in the beginning I feared that the Precision was of lower quality than what I'm used to, it was really my bad mishits and the light weight of the racket that cause the strong vibration.
totally agree!! After 2 sessions giving tender loving care and building confidence and feelings with Miss Precious, i meant Precision my Miss Precious at 84.6 at 290BP seems to be able to provide equal or even more power than my mistress aka T2 at 84.6 and 287 (both having YONEX BG66 string and karakal PU grip) not mentioning that she is faster and easier to use. Now i got a big headache, not knowing which lady to use for my game ( currently, to be fair and to ensure no jealousy among them, i am using them on alternate session)
Yeah, I'm also thinking of getting a more head-heavy one if there should be another opportunity. Right now, there is nothing available in Europe D:
Guess I'm going to have to add more hockey tape to mine. I'm sitting on a 283BP unstrung racquet but added a yonex grap at bottom end. How much tape you guys think I would need to push it to 285+ range? Edit... 8" of tape later... I'm at 287 BP strung and gripped... 2 strips of 2" overlapping on 10 and 2 position. PS... I'm still getting a Revelation so save me one! Man next year is going to be an expensive start... Panda Power Revelation... Rock Band 3 Squier... New laptop for the wife...
I think it's about 1 gram of hockey tape to add about 5mm of bp. The precision is so fast I don't even bother picking up the one at 82g and BP286 anymore, gave that to my bro and using the BP292 84g as my main doubles racket. The revelation looks promising so I'm probably gonna get atleast 3 or more if the specs are within my liking. Maybe a few Ultra pros when they coming at the end of this month to replace my retired Ultra's 2/1.
Okay, what07, seriously, where do you get that money?? I spend like 3/4 of mine on badminton, and still can't afford "a few Ultra Pros" AND 3 or more Revelations^^ I'm getting a little jealous over here as I'm still not sure if I can afford another, head-heavier Precision...
You're trying to outbid singnflipforlife in the frequent buyer program or what? From my trials, 8 inches total of half inch width hockey tape at 10 and 2 positions will increase bp by 5 mm. That is assuming the overgrip is a thin light one like supergrap or rkep g10.
Thats what I thought. The current design is the best in the PP range so far imop...I'm pretty sure I'll pm Mark again in 1 or 2 months to spend a bit more of my money than I intended to and order 1 or 2 more
The rackets aren't all for me, I share them with my bro. I work a part-time job and spend the money on things I like Also if panda is gonna give free t shirts for frequent buyers then I'm all for it.
Hm, must be a good part-time job anyway, if there are gonna be free Shirts for frequent customers, I better hurry and buy some more PP rackets But seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing the racket bag and shirt design. The bag would be really great if it was a bit wider than the normal 30-35cm - it's getting a bit tight if I wanna take more than 5 rackets with me....
Yeah that's about right. I initially had 4" worth and it was sitting at about 283 or so after the yonex grap. I'm now at about 287-290. Going to give it a try tonight and see how it does.
Yes I need a bag with atleast 35cm + width, this Li ning bag is too small at 20cm What's annoying is that those cloth bags keep getting tangled up in the bag because of the string use to sling them or tighten the end up. I dunno if I can wait for the panda bag, so I have a backup plan coming soon. In case panda forgets about my free t shirts from a few posts back
I also got a Li Ning bag, but mine is like 33cm wide. 3 big compartments, but I need a lot of stuff, too - so only 1 remains for rackets. More than 6 is a very tight fit, and puts some strain on the rackets, so I try to keep to 6 or less. Mostly, 5 are enough, but sometimes someone wants to test a racket I normally leave at home....then it gets a bit cramped.
Yeah I have to carry 2 bags since my Yonex one is not big enough. I have a old Yonex bag (blue and green) from about 8 years ago. The material they used back then was much more durable than the new ones.
