I can't say for sure but if it is then it's the first CD coded fake I'll have seen.

can everyone specify, instead of leaving out, the two most important pieces of information?

    - where you bought it from?
    - how much?

I bought it off of my friend that I know in person for $160. He told me that he got it from SportChek and got it auth checked by yonex reps, but i'm still kind of in doubt. ;/

I also have a 3UG4 AT900T and it looks the same to me. My local Sports Chek does not carry any badminton racquets over $120 with nanospeed 800 being the most expensive one they sell followed by AT250. Now I'm not certain if all Sports Chek stores are like this or just this one but looking at the pictures it seems ok.

@Avenger I don't have a bag, I got it from my friend who didn't give me one. I put it in an ArcSaber case that i found at a local gym.
@yumyumtaco There are a couple of Sport Chek's near where I live that actually do have high end racquets in stock, but not much. The one that's closest to me that does stock high end racquets has some NS9900's, an ArcZ, and some AT900's. But since I didn't get to see my friend buy it directly from Sport Chek, I'm doubting its authenticity.

The date code also says that it was manufactured on the 25th of September in 2009. I'm not sure when the AT900 was produced by yonex though.

Shaft and cone number combination is okay so based on the pics as well it should be just fine [IMG]. As druss mentioned it's extremely unlikely to get a fake one with CD in the cone number ...
AT900's are quite old already, 2007 I think they came out.

I don't mean to sound rude but is there a reason you doubt the authenticity? If it's your friend then ???? I don't personally have many friends that I don't trust and none that I would suspect of selling me a fake racket. What I'm getting at is, if it's your friend don't you think that you would have more reason to believe it's real rather than fake?

I'd have to say that based on demolidors comment then you can pretty much assume it's real. Most fake racket manufacturers have never seen/heard of a CD coded racket and based on the serial # and cone code you can feel better.

Oh ok thanks. And I doubt it's authenticity because there are rumours that he has sold people racquets that are fakes and move away right after getting the money, so I just wanted to be sure.

the golden rule that always apply is, "if in doubt, don't do it." and "if it is too good to be true, it probably is."

Good rule Kwun, I need to keep that in mind, I guess I got lucky this time.

@yumyumtaco Well yeah he's my friend, but I've only known him for about a month. I broke my AT800 so he offered me the 900T for $160, so I said sure. But people have told me stories where he would show the person the real, unstrung racquet, then string a fake, and receive the money and move. In my case though, I never got to see this racquet unstrung, it was already strung when he showed me so I bought it on the spot.

    I'm jealous :(

The Sports Chek I live close to is close enough for me to walk there in 10 minutes while the closest store that sells any real equipment (Sports Experts) is like a 30 minute drive >_>
