Distributor != retailer....distributor basically buys all the stuff from the company, then sells it to retailers (if I'm not mistaken). As that involves quite a few stores that need to be stocked, it's more money than a single retailer can actually afford... On a side note, it seems the German distributors will try to get some stuff out earlier than planned - demand was/is unexpectedly high, so they'll try and get the first items to some retailers around the end of May/start of June, broadening the range as quickly as possible and have the full planned range of items available in July/August. Shoes are highest in demand apparently, and will be amongst the first available items, while the rackets will probably only include some mid-range models at first. Exciting times though - a couple of weeks, and the first Germans will start running around with adidas gear!
Yes, distributors are pretty much ambassadors for the brand in their country. It involves doing the marketing for the whole country, finding retailers and ordering enough stuff for all the stores in the country, for the year. Usually they can only order a few times per year, and the orders need to contain huge quantities of everything to supply for the whole country.
Damn...sounds like millions of dollars will be involved. Are you aware of any distributors who have signed up with Adidas to distribute the products in Canada?
The last new I had was they were still looking for one. I think it shouldn't take much more time if they still plan on releasing this summer.
Racket ordered from http://www.racketsportsusa.com/. The shoes are fitting me nicely. I usually insert my own insole, but this time, I will run it with the original insole just to test the quality of the product. Please note that the shoes are not bt feather, it is called "essence 10".
These ones right? http://www.sportsshoes.com/product/ADI4760/adidas-stabil-essence-10-court-shoes/ They're nice looking shoes. Do post a review here after you've tried them. I was considering the cheaper Adidas shoes like the Essence, Opticourt Ligra etc but opted for Victor shoes instead. Would like to know what the Adidas are like.
Thats the one. More info sharing, the racket label included a company address and contact #. Kwcc - from Kowloon, Hong Kong. It can be another distributors location, or it could be the manufacturer/factory location. Anyone here from Hong Kong?
HQ. I tried the website - it goes straight to a Chinese (Hong Kong) Adidas generic website. Same for you other guys?
That's right. Global centre. Surprised me as well. Initially, I thought it would have been Germany. I am gutted Kwun received all those samples and I didn't get a good sniff in there first for a review!
Hey guys, I definitely need your help here. I'm still hesitating to make an order for a pair of BT Feather just because I'm so scared of ordering the wrong size and dealing with restocking fees.
im also interested in the bt feather. where you buying it from? shuttle house? i like the yellow one looks so nice and sleek
talked to the US distributor/subsidiary. they are working on bringing in the Adipower Duoforce in August as a special. so mine will stay super precious for a few more months.
