Ricky Karanda or Alfian, please pairing with M Rijal has been tested many times, and failed result. try young player and groom them for Olympic 2016
Although I only watched the live telecast between Jordan/Vita and the Danish duo for around 15 mins in the second set, there were encouraging things even though the INA scratch pairing lost. First, I think Vita probably did a better job in guiding the juniors than Butet (correct me if I am wrong). There were lots of encouraging pats and words for the inexperienced partner Praveen Jordan from the super senior Vita Marissa. Lots of smiles too from Vita if Jordan made a mistake. This is what I like from an XD pair...communications and encouragements. Second, Jordan's mentality also deserved praise. He rarely showed any downside emotion like Tontowi usually did if he made an error. The 2 players were also communicating a lot and that is the key to a good partnership. I really hope Jordan can blossom through Djarum's support (or if he does get called up again to Pelatnas....and that is a big question mark). His touches are still raw and that's where an experienced partner in XD such as Vita will come into play....to smoothen the raw edge! Second, I also like the way the INA pair fought back from 12-16 down to actually level it to 16-16. So, even if they lost 17-21 eventually, I thought they gave the Danes quite a scare (esp when they lead 10-6 before the interval). Overall, it was a positive performance....unlike some pairs in Pelatnas like Rijal/Debby whom I think lack chemistry and communications as a pair or Tontowi who often showed his "ugly" side and collapsed mentally if his opponent led by many pts. I think Butet should also learn to be more like Vita in terms of guiding the young players.
Yeah. I have to agree with this. Although this is against my previous opinion (actually more a wish since Rijal was considered talented along with LYD at junior days)
Several info on twitters that Praveen was not athlete with good discipline. So he was not qualified to enter Pelatnas. Hope time changes him.
I know about that fact last year. That's why Jordan wasn't selected for the WJC team in 2011. He thought he was already a super-star at that time.
Alfian/Gloria is splitted. Gloria will be paired with Edi Subaktiar, while Alfian Eko with either Sri Wulan Sari or Shella Devi Aulia. http://badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/1568
i believe that edi/gloria will perform much better. Edi has great tactical awareness and mental toughness. i expect for Top 50 for them this year
If Edi/Glor target only top 50 actually mean the same or no better than alfian/glor current ranking 43 in one year... Maybe top 30 0r 40 ya : )
oh, maybe you are right.... ok, maybe top 40 or better should be their aim this year... let see their perform firstly in a couple of tourneys...
2 titles from XD in the same day, one from Osaka Int'l Challenge by Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Annisa Saufika and one from Australia Open GPG by Irfan Fadhillah/Weni Anggraeni. This is the first title for both pairs.
quite impressed with this lady called anggriani.. She's a good xd player but her net coverage is amazing in today's final. If given more time and training, I'm sure she can become the next Butet. Like the determination and fighting spirit of fadhilah also. Fighting very hard for every point and the title. Overall, I see this pair will become next ina top xd pair if they remain consistent.
hmm... we hope so george.... if they can become a top pair, then it will be excellent. they came from a small club (CBN Batam), the club is relatively unknown among ina baddy fans even after weni/irfan join the pelatnas.
This is the first time I saw Irfan Fadhillah / Weni Anggraeni play. Personally I was quite impressed with their performance in the Australian Open GP finals. Thought they played really well.. good net play coupled with strong firepower from the rear... they outplayed the Koreans. A very promising pair. If they keep up with the good performance and continue improving their skills, they would be a force to reckon with in the future.
Irfan Fadhillah / Weni Anggraeni : Wow... just watched them play the Aus Open... very impressed by both the male firepower and the female front court play. Also very tactical and impressive for such a young pair... they don't look more than 19 or 20 yrs old, but they play very much like Natsir and Tantowi.
Weni Anggraini is very fast at the net.. let see how she guide the junior player like Alfian Eko. their first tourney will be MAS GPG.. i think coach is still trying to find the best formula for XD.
both pairs are trained under the same person... Richard Mainaky.. (older brother of Rexy) let's see whether this young pair could maintain their consistency and develop their mental against top MD Players in the future.
