She really impreesed me at this WC...she won all her matches by straight sets, without losing any single set...Only Xie Xf could force her into deuce....
Good Luck for her in the future.....

Yeah, Lu Lan had prepared so well for this WC with all straight sets win against heavy-weight opponent such as Wang Chen, Tine Rasmussen and her compatriots Wang Lin, Xie Xingfang. Congratz!

yeah and she seems so confident and aggressive now. celebrating each point all the time. so unlike her. i hope she continues to have the same confidence and win more titles. would you believe the last tournament she won was the Denmark Open in 2007? she was runner-up several times, 2008 Korea Open, 2008 All England and of course that infamous Olympic bronze medal match. so glad for her!

    A lil' competition, eh??

..but WYH will say: "I have the AE title, so still better than WL and LL"..;)
I hope their mini competition fire will continue to burn and they'll be hungry for more titles. After all, they are the future torchbearers for CHN WS squad (along with JYJ, WSX etc.) I, personally, thought LL really took her OG Semifinal Rd. lost to Maria K.Y. quite seriously. She must've committed herself to redeem that lost during this past 1 yr. Good for her & keep it up!!

Ahem..... she was defeated by Wang Yihan in Swiss Open. But not she defeated Wang Yihan. ;) Wang Yihan eventually turned out to be the winner of Swiss Open. ;)

    For Lu Lan..

..it's not so much a matter of beating MKY, twice or thrice or four times after the OG, or WYH or WL or other top shuttlers. That's just part of her process of becoming the current WS WC. Whether or not she beat MKY in this yr's WC, her WC WS title is the redemption for her loss in last yr's OG Bronze medal match.

Yeah, right now it's all about the young, pretty, 'Wang' dominated Chinese players. Since Beijing 2008, she seemed to sink into oblivion.

It won't be surprising if she retires this year. I checked the badminton software website, I saw her still playing, but only a few tournaments.

She is all nothing but a one hit wonder washout now. After her shocking win in Hyderabad, she failed to re-produce the same sort of form subsequently and she has been defeated easily by any players. Going back to 2011 season, she did surprise by making all the way to the final of BAC but that's all that is. She participated in a few tournaments and got herself exited by Saina Nehwal in two back-to-back tournaments. There's goes her prospects, she could only settle down and work as sparring partner for her Wang compatriots instead.
