Yep. Things change and people change. My 91 gram D-600 was the best I had used. But then...things change and people change. The D-600 is a bit too long for ideal control and defense. Overall, now for doubles, I prefer the Woven 7i. If I played singles, I'd opt for the D-600 or Woven 11.
I agree about the weight thing, and I would add balance as well. With SOTX racquets the balance of the same model can vary anywhere from 1-10mm according to their specs. For example the W7 can come with a balance point anywhere from 290-300mm, so one that was 290mm can be "weak" compared to the the one that was 300mm. David, if you're getting the W7, make sure you tell the vendor to send you one that is in the higher end of the the balance point range.
Alrite, ya i remembered. When i bought my Woven 8, there were slight variations with balance points and such on the little sticker that is different for each sotx racket.
I'm just guestimating, but Dink switched back to the w7 about 4-6 times already but yeah, w7, w7i, w11, d600...they're all attack-based rackets, though all a bit different (I'd classify the w11 and d600 as singlesrackets, w7i for doubles/allround and the w7 as allround...relative to each other) but that's just me
Question to Dinkalot: Are there some days you prefer using the W7 or D600, or you use W7 for doubles' and D600 for singles' game? I myself find some days preferring to use W7, and some days preferring to use D600 even for doubles play.
I only play doubles/mixed. I never play singles. Panda's don't like to get run around like a monkey. So Woven 7/7i for me. If I were to play singles, I'd probably opt for the D600 or Woven 11; maybe. I like my 7i. I try to stay consistent.
Maybe I'm a little bit off-topic but can anyone here help where to buy Woven 7i in the Philippines? I've already purchased a 7 and like the racket very much. Unfortunately, the store from where I bought the 7 doesn't have the 7i. Thank you very much in advance.
