Pei Tty-Eei Hui over the moon 2009/12/07 WONG Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui retained their women's doubles title in style by frustrating Denmark's Kamilla Rytter Juhl-Lena Kristiansen in the World Super Series Masters Finals at Johor Baru City Stadium yesterday. Pei Tty-Eei Hui posted a 21-17, 21-14 win over the Danish pair in 33 minutes to secure their second title and the US$42,000 (RM142,000) winners' cheque. The Malaysians, who had lost to Kamilla-Lena in the Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou in May, had their confidence boosted after beating the Danes in the preliminary round on Thursday. Kamilla-Lena could only trouble the Malaysians in the early stages of the game but Pei Tty-Eei Hui were solid at crucial moments. Pei Tty said she and Eei Hui were fully prepared for the event and this was the reason for their comfortable win in the tournament. "I would say that we were well prepared and kept very patient against Kamilla-Lena in the final," said Pei Tty. "We have achieved two of our targets but the more important assignment is the Laos Sea Games (next week) where the situation will be entirely different. "When we won our first gold in the Sea Games in 2005, it was unexpected. Now everyone expects us to win, so the pressure is there. "We have lost to our main rivals from Indonesia (Nitya Krishinda Maheswari-Greysia Polii) in the Singapore Open and we have to go all out for the gold this time." In the Sea Games, Pei Tty-Eei Hui have an easy draw and are expected to meet Nitya-Greysia in the final. The men's doubles crown went to South Korea's Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae who defeated Denmark's Mathias Boe-Carsten Mogensen 21-15, 21-15 in 46 minutes. It was Jae Sung-Yong Dae's fifth title of the year and they also made amends after losing to Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong in the final in Kota Kinabalu last year. Denmark's Joachim Fischer Nielsen-Christinna Pedersen won the mixed doubles crown, beating India's V. Dijzu-Jwala Gutta 21-14, 21-18 in 37 minutes. http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/46bado/Article/index_html
They are playing better than I have seen them for a long time. If they continue like this, the bank accounts will swell for sure.

Women to the rescue http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2009/12/18/sports/5330091&sec=sports “On paper we were expected to win and that gave us some pressure. It would not have been acceptable if we had lost to the Singaporean. We were really focused today and did not want to concede easy points,” she said. “This is the second time that we have won a title twice. We have come a long way to establish ourselves.” congrates
congrats to the ladies! is it my deteriorating eyesight? or is CEH's complexion getting worse? couldnt believe my eyes when i saw her on TV for the Sea Games final match against the SG pair.
Pei Tty and Eei Hui on cloud nine http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/articles/badass/Article/index_html We won two gold medals here but the one I cherish is the team gold as we won it after 34 years. Overall it has been a good year for us as we were No 1 for a few months and also managed to win a Super Series title in Jakarta. "We need to go home and get some rest before preparing for next year. Of course the target will be to win more titles," added Pei Tty. all the best in next year tournament

Tuesday January 19, 2010 Eei Hui-Pei Tty out to end another long drought DOUBLES specialist Chin Eei Hui was among the shuttlers honoured in an award ceremony last Saturday for ending a 34-year gold medal drought for Malaysia in the SEA Games women’s team badminton event. And she has a quick chance to add another feather to her cap with partner Wong Pei Tty in the Malaysian Open, which will begin tomorrow at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil. If the duo emerge as the champions, they will be the first Malaysian pair in 45 years to win the home Open women’s doubles title. The last Malaysian winners were Rosalind Singha Ang-Teoh Siew Yong in 1965. And Rosalind is also the last Malaysian to win the women’s singles title, which she achieved in the same year. Eei Hui may be ambitious but she is realistic about the chances with Pei Tty in the Malaysian Open. “It was a big honour for the women’s team to win the Olympian award for the breakthrough performance at the SEA Games (in Laos last month). But the challenge in the Malaysian Open is totally different for us,” she said. At the Games in Vientiane, Malaysia defeated Indonesia in the women’s team final and the achievement was worth the Olympian award from the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM). Besides Eei Hui and Pei-Tty, the other members of the team were Wong Mew Choo, Ng Hui Lin, Woon Khe Wei, Sabrina Chong, Lydia Cheah and Sannatasah Saniru. In the Malaysian Open, Eei Hui-Pei Tty are drawn in the same half as China’s world No. 1 and top seeds Ma Jin-Wang Xiaoli and they are tipped to meet each other in the semi-finals. World champions and second seeds Du Jing-Yu Yang of China are in the other half of the draw. “We have never beaten this pair from China. Our first meeting against them was at the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in Johor Baru last year and they blew us away,” said Eei Hui. “We played against them at the Japan and France Open after that and gave better fights. I think we can beat them if we play to our true potential. For now, our goal is to make the semi-finals and we will take it from there.” Eei Hui-Pei Tty, who are the world No. 5 and third seeds, are in the same quarter as eighth seeds A. Duanganong-V. Kunchala of Thailand and compatriots Khe Wei-Vivian Hoo, who are forging a new partnership. Eei Hui added that her main goal this year was to get among the medallists in the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, in November. “It will be a great achievement for us to win an Asiad medal for the first time,” she said. “We also have the Uber Cup Finals in May. Khe Wei-Vivian are being groomed to become the second pair and the Malaysian Open will be a good ground for them to see where they stand.”
Shuttlers get 2008 winnings after year-long wait I have almost forgotten how it felt to win our first major title at the Masters Finals. Now, after one year, I am able to enjoy the prize money. What a long wait it has been,” said Pei Tty. “After all the hard work of winning titles, players naturally want to enjoy the rewards. “It is good that the BAM have finally settled the money owed to us. I am not sure when they will pay us the prize money for the 2009 Masters Finals but we hope they will expedite the process.” so,player treat ssmf as a major hopefully no arguement on this maybe they need to wait till 2011 for 2009 wins
Ya, the sad thing is BAM keep their money for so many years. Just like their ranking money, they only pay the ranking money to them after few years. But they have to pay the income tax for that first and get the money in future. Anyhow this is the way BAM to control them from quiting BAM and join others country. May be i will do the same thing as well.
Women’s pair bent on smashing Great Wall http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/3/10/sports/5832691&sec=sports “We held the number one spot at one stage ... but now the players from China are dominating the top three spots,” said Eei Hui. “The Chinese pairs are still better than us although we have narrowed the gap on them,” said Eei Hui.
CEH/WPT are somewhat a more consistent version of Fuzzy, having won 2 titles and that's it. They have come close but they cannot break down the CHN WD, too strong... I don't forsee and more upcoming Malaysia WD. Sonia/Li Lian was also too weak for CHN WD, although they managed to make the SF.
Pei Tty believes weakened Uber Cup team can still make semis “For now, it may show that the injury problems have made it much more tougher for the team. But it has changed nothing as far as our determination to do well at home is concerned,” she said. “I believe that our team can still make the semi-finals. “We hope that the draw for the quarter-final will be favourable to us. “All the players must not give up and if we adopt this attitude, we can go far.” Team manager Datuk Sayed Abu Bakar Abdullah reminded the team of their heroics at the SEA Games. “They were not expected to win against heavy favourites Indonesia (in the team final) but they pulled off the biggest surprise by beating the defending champions,” said Sayed, who was also the team manager at the Laos Games. “We will be expecting the same fighting spirit from them in the Uber Cup Finals.” http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/4/30/sports/6161668&sec=sports
Injured Pei Tty can’t defend Indonesian Open title with Eei Hui “She was coping with the help of injections during the Uber Cup campaign last month. She can’t bend her right knee now and she has been recommended to go for five injections. She is now confined to doing skills training,” he said. “There are the Macau and Taiwan Opens before the World Championships. We may enter them to help them get match fit before the world meet. But we’ll have to see Pei Tty’s condition first,” said Kim Wai. http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/6/6/sports/6412826&sec=sports
