I'm so sick of the withdrawals from the Chinese players.

I guess MS is going to be a foregone conclusion now that Chen Long is out...ugh!

There won't be a loss from LCW tomorrow. This is Malaysia we're dealing with here, not China.

Ouseph has undoubtedly improved; first Chen Long was nearly sent packing and now Du. Good to see a player blossoming at a relatively late age; guess coach Jonassen wasn't of such great help after all. :p Let's hope he can shake things up a bit more here.

Meanwhile, good to see that Germany has taken it in the mixed doubles.

Again Sindhu was dismissed in straight games by Ratchanok.. 3rd time in a row. Scores has improved to some extent. But still, sindhu needs to improve near net area where she was outclassed by Ratchanok with her deceptive skills. Amazing display by Ratchanok.

Maybe LCW is trying to train his stamina. He often lost to LD in final and many times it was a long 3 games.

So now he tries to win all his matches as long as possible. It does not matter if he lost in the end because he has won the tournaments in the past. What matters is winning the WC or Olympic.

Anyway this is just my theory.

Fuchs/Michels, well done. Keep it up.

Rajiv Ouseph on his day is a tricky opponent for many top players now.

Du did not play well. He really didn't have the right feel for the shuttle today. Rajiv did play consistently well to take advantage.

Hmm. I watched this match. Not as one sided as one would think. Ratchanok has a beautiful overhead action that is very difficult to predict. For Sindhu, she was a bit slower in adapting to the court conditions. Ratchanok upped the pace in the second set but I get the feeling Sindhu wasn't too far away. If Ratchanok had slipped up, Sindhu would have been got in very well.

For these two, future encounters are going to be so important and fascinating. Ratchanok will want to maintain a psychological advantage over Sindhu. So we can expect the very best in each match. I get the feeling that Sindhu can improve a lot more compared to Ratchanok who is almost complete. So once Sindhu learns more tricks and develops her vision further, Sindhu is going to be one of the toughest players on the circuit.

Tendinitis in the elbow so I was told.

Thanks for your observation. In fact I was wondering what happened to him of late, skipped the JPN and the French Open, and...well, by this defeat,he's probably out of the running for a place at the SSF.

what for? WZM has enough points to qualify for the Superseries finals, while CL doesn't. If Hu Yun goes further, or if TS wins 2 matches, CL will miss the finals.

Me too, but only if he could repeat that success with the bigger name players. He's so, so tall that you'd wish he'd press that physical advantage further. I see that Vittinghus is now through as well, as is Jorgensen, but those 2 have been around for awhile with no significant results that one starts hoping for the young ones to rise up.
