Sealman got a TC700 also ? Wonder which racquet he like best out of his collection ?

How do you think the TC700 compares with the likes of Woven 7 and 11 ?

I'm still considering. Will let you know if I'm buying.

Currently, there're 3 ways I can get the stuff.

    1. Order online.
    2. Wait for my friend to go Japan in June this year.
    3. Wait for my sister to go Japan. (Need to check when is she going though!)

I will be going earlier than that... in April or, perhaps, May.
For a massive commission, I'm willing to be the courier :p

I gave the GP-80 a few hours of playtime today. Here are my impressions.

I played mostly doubles but also some singles with it..

It feels very fast to swing it.. It was really great in doubles.. light and fast swingspeed and really good dynamic flex for power smashes..

If I would comapre it to feel of other rackets, I would say it plays pretty close to NS9000s, as a basic reference for the timing, feel and speed.

It is maybe a little bit to flexy for my taste (control wise), but wrist smashes, stick smashes where just awesome power with it..

Due to the extra flex doing long blocks in doubles defence was childs play, but taking the shuttle earlier and turning defence into offence also felt nice due to the speed, aerodynamic head.

The Sweetspot felt extremely large on it (but I have not strung it at high tension yet).

For singles, I had a little trouble with precision in begining (felt to flexy and many slices diagonal smashes went to wide and I had to adjust and use bigger margins.. I attribute this to the 22lbs tension in combination with the not so ultrastiff shaft, which made control suffer a bit).. Max power was OK but not as good as the TC700.

I would reccomend this racket for people who wants a a powerful forgiving racket, that playes easy on different swing speeds..

I would define it as a cross between arcsabre 7 and NS9000s in feel.. (more powerful than Arc 7, and more forgiving than NS9K X&S)

    my 2 cents.

I will definitively play more with this one in doubles but for singles I like a more "hammer" like racket like the TC700 :)

thanks twobeer. alas, it is harder for me to procure Muzino rackets, and even so, i probably could not afford/ actually use the rackets anyway. they seem excellent.

Did you really purchase all those rackets for the stated prices from the catalog photos? The prices seem a bit much, or else I'd consider taking Oldhand's offer..

No, the prices in Japan are definitely cheaper than those stated in the Catalog.

Hehe... I'm quite sure it's his. I saw him using it on the CNY game and borrowed it for a swing.

I've never tried any of the Wovens.

    Old Vs New

Been playing with old TC700 (3ug5) and new TC700 (3ug4) back to back, and I think they are quite different rackets, new TC700 is easier to use then old, less head heavy, more manoeuvrable and has a larger sweetspot. Old one is less compromising on smashing with smaller sweetspot, but more outright power. Don't know which I prefer at the moment, but new one was a nice change, easier to drive and net kill but less power on smashing.

I would say its along the lines of old ti10 ---> new ti10

Well, my commission will be massive enough to deter anyone from asking me to buy anything for them :p

I've been dying to try Sealman's Tetracross 700.

But he has suddenly developed this rather annoying habit of going out to play whenever I finish a game... a transparently underhand ploy but a very effective one too :(

But you are the Oldhand of the game, sir :D. Surely, you must have taken this move into consideration and adjust your tactic accordingly.

No problem lah, Sealman not the only guy to have the TC700. If you invite me to your game, you will also get to try the TC700 :D

Still can't play with the TC700 and GP10.
Can't get the timing right and the feel is horrible.
Lifts, defense, netplay and drives/pushes are good with them though, much more maneuverable than the Yonex racquets I own.
I'll get the two restrung with bg65 and give them another go.
