2 reports on Angus Ng Ka Long and the HKG girls (Yuen Sin Ying, Cheung Ying Mei, and Ng Wing Yung), who are obviously the focus of the media today and all four players should be competing at the upcoming WJC 2012.

The report also mentioned Angus Ng will only compete in BS (and hopefully will deliver gold for the host nation). So, INA's main rivals in the BD will be mainly THA and MAS pairs.

Another article on MAS's hope...Soo Teck Zhi, who's currently being trained by Lee Chong Wei's former coach in BJSS. There's a high chance Soo will face Angus Ng in the Final if both are seeded in the top 2.

Luluk Hadiyanto confirmed that INA beat MAS in both the Boys and Girls Team Event by a close margin: 3-2. 3 of the matches in the Boy's Team Final went to 3 sets, 2 of them went to deuce in the rubber-set.

    Setyadi Putra Wibowo
[3/4] vs Jason Lo King Ching - Setyaldi has a good chance to progress to the SF as he's seeded. His next opponent in the QF is likely to be Lim Chi Wing (whom he beat in the Team Event Final).

Rifan Fauzi Ivanudin vs Soo Teck Zhi [3/4] - a tough draw for Rifan, against Soo yet again in the first-round.

    GS R16
Lya Ersalita vs Phasita Wathanayom [3/4] - also a tough draw for Lya. Let's see if she can progress to the QF.

Febtria Adistya Rato Putri is seeded 2nd and will play her first match tomorrow in the QF against either Yap Rui Chen or Chanachida Dubthuk.

    BD R16
Kittiphon Chaircukanjana/Sutichon Pol-Gul [3/4] vs Rizko Azurro/Wildan Atmaja - despite facing the seeded pair, I hope the INA pair from Guna Dharma can take this one.

Thanadol Jumpanoi/Natpapon Khitphaibol vs Jeka Wiratama/Amal Ori Wibowo [2] - a tough draw for Jeka/Amal right from the start. If they can beat the Thai, they will face the MAS pair Woon Man Chun/Mohd Amzzar Bin Zainuddin (the Gold Medallist of the Asean School Games Individual Event) in the QF tomorrow morning.

    GD R16
    Sureeporn Chaithongwong/Vareesa Iamratanamae
vs Austin Cindy Pratiwi/Berlian Sudrajat - not sure how this one will turn out to be.

Xing Xiaowan/Yu Yue vs Afni Fadilah/Putri Sekartaji Pungkasari [3/4] - the INA pair beat the CHN pair in 3 tight-sets in the Team Event. Let's hope they can repeat their performance.

    XD R16
I Putu Roy Danu Wira Dharma/Illa Alvionita vs Sanura Hapuarachchi/Madushika Dilrukshi - the INA pair is scheduled to face the top-seed Chan Tsz Him/Cheryl Chung Zin Yee in the QF tomorrow.

    Rian Swastedian/Masita Mahmudin
is seeded 2nd also and will play their first match tomorrow in the QF against either Leung Kin Foon/Emily Leung Lee Ling or Mek Narongrit/Napatsorn Intaratchaikij.

According to Luluk, 2 casualties from Team INA in the first day of the Individual Event: BS & GD. So, it could be Rifan Fauzi & Austin Cindy/Berlian. The others progress to the QF.

I won't be able to watch the QF and SF matches as well tomorrow due to work. Hopefully, I can catch some matches in the Finals on Tuesday morning & afternoon.

    BS QF
    Setyaldi Putra Wibowo
[4] vs Lim Chi Wing - Setyaldi had beaten the MAS player in the Team Event Final. He should have no problem reaching the SF.

    GS QF
    Ho Yen Mei
[1] vs Lya Ersalita - the top-seed from MAS to progress.

Yap Rui Chen vs Febtria Adisthya Rato Putri [2] - Febtria to progress.

    BD QF
    Rizko Azurro/Wildan Wtmaja
vs Lahiru Ambeygoda/Pamoda Hettiarachchi - Rizko/Wildan should progress to the SF.

Mohd Amzzar Bin Zainuddin/Woon Man Chun vs Amal Ori Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama [2] - despite being seeded 2nd, it's tough for Amal/Jeka to progress.

    GD QF
Norshahida Baharum/Cheah Yee See vs Afni Fadilah/Putri Sekartaji Pungkasari [4] - the 4th seed to progress.

    XD QF
Chan Tsz Him/Chung Zin Yee Cheryl [1] vs I Putu Roy Danu Wira Dharma/Ila Alvionita - I am not sure about this, but let's hope the INA pair progresses.

Leung Kin Foon/Emily Yeung Lee Ling vs Rian Swastedian/Masita Mahmudin [2] - Rian/Masita to progress.

I thought the GS Final is in the afternoon...it turns out to be in the morning :( So, I will miss watching the Finals.

Anyway, XD turns out to be the one that delivers Gold in the Individual Event as I suspect, with the Rian Swastedian/Masita Mahmudin (serial winners in Sirnas XD U-19 too) facing off against I Putu Roy Danu Wira Dharma/Ila Alvionita. Rian/Masita have the edge.

In the GS, Lya Ersalita manages to progress to the Final and she will face Yap Rui Chen. They already faced each other twice in the Team Event last week, each winning a match. Hopefully, Lya can deliver another Gold.

BD is dominated by MAS pairs as I already mentioned even before the Individual Event started and both Amal Ori Wibowo/Jeka Wiratama and Rizko Azurro/Wildan Atmaja (at least winning a Bronze this week) were beaten by the top 2 MAS pairs. I believe the MAS pairs will be sent to AJC & WJC next year. Kevin/Rafi and other INA pairs better beware.

GD should be won by Narissapat Lam/Maetanee Phattanaphitoon. Both INA GD pairs were beaten before SF.

Finally, the most-coveted title BS is fought between the 2 hot contenders Angus Ng Ka Long and Soo Teck Zhi. Angus Ng has a slight edge and overwhelming home support.

Team MAS won 3 Golds in the individual events. Soo Teck Zhi upstaged the local favorite Angus Ng Ka Long to win the coveted Gold Medal in BS, after a tight 3-sets battle. Similarly, Yap Rui Chen defeated Lya Ersalita also in 3 tight-sets. Chua Kek Wei/Ong Yew Sin also won the Gold Medal after beating their counter-parts.

As expected, Rian Swastedian/Masita Mahmudin won the Gold Medal for INA in XD and Narissapat Lam/Maetanee Phattanapitoon won the GD title.
