Any of you in facebook?? I created the group Indonesia for Thomas Cup 2008 so please join the group by all means..thanx
Yea is eyes actually show it...he has lots of confidence in himself...is very important.....I think Alamsyah might be the same n Dyonisus Rumbaka...if I am not mistaken...
Andre [seeded 9/16] just won his second match in the Vietnam Challenge. Tomorrow he will face Roslin Hashim [seeded 1] in the round of 16... We shall see... He he he... I believe if he beats Roslin, then his road to the semifinals and even the finals are pretty wide open. Andre's fellow clubmate Ari Yuli Wahyu already took care of the other highly seeded competitor, Nicholas Kidd [seeded 3/4], who is also in the same half as Andre and Roslin.
If he beats Roslin 2nd time in a short periods... that's means he is better than Roslin not just because of luck, form or etc. Is time to proof himself! Not just one shot wonder!
Yes..he will get som extra points from Vietnam challenge so he can between 47 to 39...depending the end result.
HE already lost to roslin. Personally i think he played well but still not on par yet with the level of Roslin.
Andre's revenge through his roommate today! Here's an interesting story I heard: Andre admitted that he was outplayed by Roslin at the net a few days ago. That was fine. Sports like badminton is about outplaying your opponent. Later, Andre was irritated by Roslin because after the rubber set win over Andre, Roslin said "Aman aman aman... Sekarang untuk juara sudah aman..." [Safe safe safe... To be the champion is safe now...] Andre heard this himself.. Andre watched and taped the Roslin quarterfinal game last night... Analyzed it, critisized it, studied it and gave lots of tips to Wahyu, his roommate... Maybe with some help of Fang Kaixiang and Agus Dwi, their coaches, of course... Today, Andre can smile more because Wahyu defeated Roslin... Roslin's net tactics cannot work on Wahyu because Wahyu is more skillful at that compared to most people [even Andre admit that Wahyu is better than him]...
If I am not mistaken, before the Indonesian Open, Andre was ranked in the 100+ area [you can check this at the historical ranking count at www.internationalbadminton.org]. After the Indonesian Open quarterfinals, he got 5400 ranking points, he rose to world #70-something. After NZ Open, where he got 5000 ranking points as the champion, he rose to world #47... After being defeated in the round of 16 this week, he should get more points, but it won't change his ranking too much... Wahyu, his roommate, will get waayyy more points after this week...
Tough job for Andre! If we look at the Superliga schedule [ http://www.superligabadminton.com/schedule.php ] we can expect: 22 June, Andre vs. Lee Tsuen Seng [Musica Champions] 23 June, Andre vs. Chen Hong [Suryanaga] 24 June, Andre vs. Taufik Hidayat [SGS Elektrik] 25 June, Andre vs. Budi Santoso [Mutiara] 26 June, Andre vs. Simon Santoso [Tangkas] 27 June, Andre vs. Ahmad Rivai [Ratih] 28 June, Andre vs. Kendrick Lee or Ronald Susilo [Jaya Raya] Tough eh?!? Well, as PB Djarum's 1st MS, Andre has to do his job...
good for andre to warm up for his Thai open....he is young and need to be grilled by his seniors....good for him to play against taufik, CH or Ronald...I think he can pass LTS, Budi or Rivai
Agree! Andre can defeat LTS, Budi, and Rivai. In straight sets, I believe! But Taufik and Chen Hong are too tough... Against Simon and Kendrick or Ronald [if Ronald is not injured], then he might go to rubber sets... mmm, but I think at this stage, Andre do not have the upper hand...
