I heard that Lin Dan was told to lose by Chinese team.

I did not believe it at first, due to it might be another excuse but there is a possibility that it might be true.

In AE, Lin Dan lost to Bao Chunlai, expecting that he'll get to the final but instead he lost to Kenichi Tago. This was unexpected and seeing Bao's reaction after the match, he was crying. This can be about giving away Lin Dan's defending the 100th AE.

Therefore the reasoning of Lin Dan losing might be because the "team" wants to raise Bao's ranking point because he is not in the top 5 of the world yet.

There have been a lot of rumours and stories about Lin Dan.

Please can I have some opinions. This is what I heard but I'm not totally agreeing with this statement.

I don't believe this, to me, it's just excuses to protect Lin Dan, Lin Dan is spending time in earning money in advertisements back in China rather than Badminton.

I think should give some credit to Bai ChunLai.

Yeah, I assume so. Lin Dan doesn't seem to be playing his own usual style.
I credit Bao Chunlai, he is fantastic.
I assume Lin Dan will be back for Thomas Cup and World Championships :)

He didn't even try at the swiss open against PG. He just doesn't want to show his strategy yet before the TC and AG as those are the only 2 goals he has this year. Nothing else matters to him than these two titles.

    What about WC ?
Ok for AG, but TC is Lyb's aim, not Dan's (what jusitify perhaps the conspiracy theory)

All of us know that if LD lost, it was because he was trying to make a charity on that day(donating the prize money to others) or he was not in the mood to win(too lazy to move, not interested in tournament outcome). When he won and trashed everyone else, that was because he performed to his usual level and everyone else is of no match to him no matter how hard they try.

How could you ask this? Everyone knows about this.

    Cheers.

Bao Played well whatever assumptions that you guys had. Lin Dan may not need to prove himself anymore. :) He is still the best player up there. LCW has not beaten him yet consistently. IMO Lin Dan is still a man to beat. Losing to a fellow teammate is common.

the star today has suggested that team CHN still want LD as their 1st singles for the thomas cup, which is why he's being sent to the asian championships while CJ is being rested. either way, no matter how you shuffle the MS around, CHN are almost guaranteed to pick up at least 2 of the 3 points on offer.

I must say that the CHN team will have a very strong MS for the Thomas Cup.

With LD still to come, Bao with excellent form and CJ jst won the swiss open. It will be very interesting.

Not so fair comments. If you think about it, LCW did not get a chance to beat him consistently coz LD was either not there in the last few tournaments or in the case of the AE, LD did not play up to expectation.

Perhaps if they had met and LCW had won against LD, your comments might be different today.

Maybe this is why it will still be very interesting for fans as they have not truly met.

just watched the 2010AE finals again, based on the recent form if LD and LCW meet now I'll say 60-40 in favour of LCW.

I don't think you can predict the scores.

LD always comes up with a unbelievable speed and shots against LCW.
You can see these kind of top LD form from AE2009, Olympic 2008 or sudirmancup 2009.

LD do goes really hard on LCW so i don't think you can predict the form that LD will be in when facing LCW.:)

That is why I hated this skipping of tournaments here and there. Fans sure missed out these great matches. All crap strategies...

No matter what, the best player should be 1st singles depending on the form of the day. If LD is not 1st singles. Then it will be good for other teams for sure. ;)

So, he better buck up when the big events comes. Else if he continues to loose... what else to say? ;) Bad coach maybe? The 'thingy' is not there. ;)

i thot if LD is absence, more chances for other players to advance ranking and/or even win some titles. Isn't it that what non-LD fans like to see?
