It may end up being cheaper to use bg80

Am I OCD enough to sit down and work it out...?:)

Nah - BG80 loses more tension over the first few hours. One reel gives 20+ jobs, so at one every three weeks, that's more than a year. (Barring breakages, of course, but I never break. Ever.)

3 weeks is what I was getting out of VS800 before I went back to VS850 which is 2 weeks tops.

And you've got to actually get the VS850 in at 30+ (which, these days, isn't exactly a done deal!).

Second reel is here - that's me in string till... 2025, probably.

Winston put me a set of G-Tone 5 (0.65) in for testing. Recommended tension? 27.

    Recommended tension for R4X110 (@ 0.68)? 18-23.

is it possible that the string retains its properties the best in that tension range? I'm curious if it has the properties you explained, dulled down, and it just lasts a very long time.

I would have cut you a length off and put it in with the one I sent today if I'd known!

I bought a few packs a while back, a mate of mine has been play testing it for me.

I have trouble imagining what R4X110 would do at 23 if I can backhand clear out the back at 31...

I've ordered a few packs of R4X 110 to test it and read about the sudden drop in tension...
Would you recommend stringing 2 lbs higher than usual (30 lbs)?

It's not bad enough to warrant going over your usual; just make sure you prestretch it (manual and/or machine).

Had my first session with the R4X110 today (30 lbs, on my N80) and I'm stunned. This is one awesome string! You were right Mark A., feel is better than BG80. Kind of combines the crisp feeling of BG66 UM (feels thinner than 0.68 mm) and the hard feeling of BG80. Gonna try 31 lbs next... :D

The reels seem to have disappeared from MBS. I hope Winston hasn't stopped stocking it, because I can't find it anywhere else.

Had my second session today and I'm a little bit disappointed... The crisp and awesome feel is almost gone, after just one session. :(
It's not unplayable or dead but not that awesome anymore.
Will go 2 lbs higher next time, maybe that will help. :D

Yeah, noticed that the 200 m reels have disappeared from MBS; that's a pity!

String feels good with good power, but I do not like the string as stringer. It is too easy to have bending damage. I can image if it had
a nano coating on the surface would make it much better as in NBG98.

Compare to Gosen pro70, I would rather choose Gosen pro70,
cheaper and durable with almost same power.
