Sayaka Sato to me, is the new Susi Susanti.:D All accolades and kudos to her.

But what a shame for her traumatic injury.

So i hope after this she doesn't get the 'cold shoulder' treatment that LCW got! Injuries come like a thief in the night. :crying:

But I think Tine will prevail even if Sato was not injured.

Anybody has any links to the match? Or even highlights clip leading to that fateful retirement, would do... :(

    about today's matches:

Taufik coach said: hit it far, be patient
LD is good on his racket side area (left of LD) his shot is very precise
however Ld is not really good on his right (non racket side) / backhand
but the problem is, the right side (LD right side) of the court has too much wind

and yeah, on points 8-13, taufik got a free kill from right side of LD after LD's backhand shot wass not strong enough and fly really slow

P.S: nothing much TH coach can talk about, it is against super Dan after all :p

Towi butet's coach talks about style of play and weaknesses of their opponent doubles
for example GER doubles tend not to guard the middle part

Simon Santoso did so many mistakes!
wow, I can't believe it, SS at his lowest, LCW at his highest today

Uncle PG as impressive as ever!
very good finisher, a very strong smash in the front of the court. he didn't waste it he catch it like an eagle!

I felt really bad for Sayaka Sato, leading in the match, almost getting her first match, but she got an injury
I applaud her to try to keep playing, but it feels too painful to watch, watching a 21 years old girl crying in the middle of the court
even her coach said: Sato stop this owari de owari (the end, this is the end or maybe better to be interpreted as: let's stop this)

I think Tine Baun also feels guilty, she went for front court area where Sato cannot reach to make the coach realise, "it is impossible for Sato to play
again I applaud Tine Baun as motherly figure, a good sportmanship display here, unlike the WDs..

ya, I read. She was leading like 15-12. But I still think in the end Tine will prevail. Anyway, she was out now. This year edition of OG is really full of tragedy.

no.. Sayaka leading at 10-14 when this accident happened (became 11-14 after that) that's 4 point differences
IMO the damage started at point 7-14 when she fell for the first time
the one at 10-14 was the prolonged effect of this first injury

P.S: anyone noticed that sayaka used dental braces?

I literally shed tears watching as i'm just recovering from a torn acl+pcl+mcl and dislocated knee ... Been on crutches for 10 months now and to watch something similar happen to someone else was just too much >_< I wish her all the best in her recovery and i hope it's not as bad as it looked! What's worse is the official olympics website says she's got a badly twisted ankle?? Slight difference there mate!http://www.london2012.com/news/articles/day-review-sato-suffers-painful-exit.htmlPs. The clingfilm on the knee thing is new to me, really clever way to stop swelling and movement i guess...

Edit: just realised i might have been a bit of an idiot... Is there ice in the clingfilm??

Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the gentleman who proposed the revival of the Olympic Games. Father of the Modern Olympics.

Your view that winning is everything already proves that Olympics has truly lost its original ideal and noble value.

You don't agree with him? Go ahead, wake him up and argue with him. He's sleeping in Lausanne right now. :p

You misunderstood me,of course, I agreed with Coubertin if you've read all my previous posts on this matter. It was a rhetorical question laced with sarcasm, irony,a sense of frustration or a sense of sardonic humour if you like.

It's my fault for not making myself clear but the word "really" at the end of it should have given you a clue. It's ok,no problem, let's not wake him up from his eternal R.I.P. - he knows what I mean.:p:)
