I thought there was some real high quality points, Saina was pushed hard yet she still came out on top, so I'm not too concerned. What does concern me however is the way she tightened a bit at the end of the second game. In the last game it seemed once it got tight she stopped playing the shuttle tight to the net, i hope their was a tactical decision behind that and it wasn't just nerves.
Yes. Sometimes the nerves gets the better of her during the critical period. Anyway, the best match I have seen for ages and it started out pretty crappy with both of them whacking out until it was 9-9 I think. Damn satisfied today ....
I too believe WSX may be out of action for quite a while, she simply cannot carry on playing in this manner, too taxing. Hope to see her in the near future a new transformed player, WSX ver 2.0 !
wow.. what a titanic battle of WSX vs Saina. the match was very amazing. and we'll see not all CHN final in WS. line up WYH vs SJH may be interesting "proposal" for Sunday, rematch of UC
Gill Clark: " I wonder if KKK has lost a little weight" Too right he has, when I have the youtube stream at it's default size I used to be able to tell Koo and Tan apart simply from their outlines, can't anymore .
oh no.. Sony lost oh yes.. Greysia/Meliana won. missed watching these matches this afternoon. looking for positive side, at least no possibility for all INA final. The match Simon vs DPY should be interesting
Yes,there were many quality shots and rallies but the scoreline was too close for comfort. Saina should have won more convincingly by clearer margins - in the 3rd set the match could have gone either way. Saina failed to stamp her authority over WSX even though she was superior in attacks and net plays, and don't forget WSX actually made a significant number of simple errors.
I've been waiting all week for Sung Ji Hyun to end up on a TV court, really looking forwards to the match tomorrow.
your dream will probably come true. KKK/TBH will win this last match of QF less than 30 minutes (my bet) I wish Kido/Hendra vs KKK/TBH in final, rematch Asian Games final 2010 but, whoever win from match Kindra vs JJS/LYD will be spectator's favorite in final
You are right but then I think our points of view have may have arisen from a different level of expectation. Since dropping weight Saina has lost a number of matches to Chinese opponents, so I wasn't convinced she was going to win today, WSX was world number one only last year! So I see her games leading to the OG as stepping stones of improvement as she gets used to her 'new' lighter body. So I'm sure she will continue to improve, but that said I do agree with your criticisms.
