Need more room!! So, I've done a couple string jobs with the machine since last week (maybe 5 or 6) and I have to say I'm really impressed by the quality of everything this machine offers. However, compared to my last machine, one thing is lacking: space! At first I really wasn't comfortable while weaving the crosses, mainly due to the proximity of both N/S towers together and the frame's proximity to the tower (which made the knotting process quite a challenge). So I decided to put the side supports back to their Tennis spot and increased the distance between both towers to make more room and so the side supports would sit where they should on the frame. Does this sound right ? (pic 1) Weaving crosses is now much more comfortable. I still have a problem though with the last cross knot. There is really little room to actually weave, make the knot and tighten it because of the tower and the flying clamps. (pic 2) Does any other Gamma machine users experience any of this ? I'm trying to figure out what I could do to get more space, but I still haven't found a way that wouldn't make the supports less efficient.
I plan on adjusting the load spreader so it can fit better. I will probably trim the middle part so the support would get deeper into the load spreader, then it shouldn't take so much room.
Pete, I wanted to answer to your private message, but it says I can't because your inbox is full Here's my answer anyways
Does that really exist ? I can't seem to find them anywhere!! hehe NVM, found them! http://www.gosen.jp/eng/racket/detail_GMHAB.html Thanks Damn, 40$ is a lot though!
You get a package of three or something? I forgot the exact numbers. The best is to email the retailer.
I think I'll just get the Gamma support since it costs less Would you consider it to be wide enough for good load spreading even for higher tensions ?
I'm kind of worried though because Gamma badminton frame support were probably made to fit stock Gamma side supports. Will it fit with Chudek's supports ? Are the Chudek supports at the same height as the stock Gamma supports ?
i have the same worry. but: - Gamma - no customization - Chudek - can be made to order so if you ever decide to order Chudek, just need to have him made it to a height that fits the Gamma.
Yeah, that wouldn't be much of an issue if I they weren't already heading to my home ;P I'll see how that works when I get the supports and if I decide to order the gamma badinton frame support. Maybe it won't be at the right height, but maybe there's a way to fix that without much effort.
I just received the supports and they seem to be at the same height as the regular Gamma side supports if I use 2 washers (that came with the Chudek supports) to raise them. Too bad I did all my stringing for the week already, I have no racket to test them
Just wanted to pop in and say that Chudek's supports fit perfectly with Gamma's badminton supports' height. Thanks Michal, I LOVE your side supports! The only thing that didn't work out was the plastic tubing on th ends, I found that they don't work well with thicker rackets and that the plastic flattens a little bit causing a slight loose on my side shoulders. I just removed the plastic tubing and I don't think it'll ever cause any problem really.
