After og, can try split them. Maybe Hoo/Goh and Chan/Lala. Not going to be easy for Malaysia. Not impossible. Power and height is a problem. Can use speed and strategy to win it. Rexy can put some tips on this. 110% focus.
doubt they can win it if top 4 is around. too much pressure for them. small tournament, maybe... PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles coach Jeremy Gan is targeting at least one title for his top pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying (pic) this year if they are to keep up their steady progress. Peng Soon-Liu Ying had a fine run in the Malaysia Open, taking out world No. 5 Chen Hung-ling-Chen Wen-hsing en route to reaching the semi-finals for the first time on home soil. But they were outclassed by world No. 1 Zhang Nan-Zhao Yunlei in the last four, falling to a tame 13-21, 16-21 defeat. However, it was still a good result for Peng Soon-Liu Ying, who boosted their chances of qualifying for the Olympics as the semi-final showing should put them back in the world’s top 10. Jeremy believes the world No. 11’s failure to overcome the top Chinese pair was due to a lack of self-confidence and insufficient training. “Peng Soon-Liu Ying have improved much over the past year but they gave the Chinese pair too much respect and lost focus. They also gave away many points,” said Jeremy. “Now, my target for them is to win at least one title to boost their confidence. “But it won’t be easy as they had to play in quite a number of tournaments last year and did not have enough time to train. “After the Chinese New Year period, however, there will be enough time to train for the German Open and All England. “I also plan to get some of the men’s pairs to spar with Peng Soon-Liu Ying as we don’t have enough mixed pairs to challenge them.” Jeremy added more emphasis would be placed on youngsters Tan Aik Quan-Lai Pei Jing who did well to beat Indonesia’s Markis Kido-Pia Bernadeth Zebadiah to reach the Malaysian Open main draw. “Aik Quan-Pei Jing have the potential to become a top pair,” said Jeremy. With Sabrina Chong out for a few months due to a knee injury, Peng Soon-Liu Ying and Aik Quan-Pei Jing are the only two established pairs in the squad. For now, Sabrina’s partner Ong Jian Guo will team up with Lim Yin Loo.

News reports when it 1st happened : http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/1/22/nation/10312187&sec=nation Hope the bro has speedy recovery. In a sense, good thing CPS not in TC team, he can concentrate on taking care of bro.
Before I forget, the rackets they are currently using are : CPS : Arc Saber 10 GLY : NanoRay 700 RP All the best to them in German GP Gold, AE SS, Swiss GP Gold
and they are beaten by "part-time" pair of Datuk Lee and Vivian Hoo in the final of Selangor Open.... but Ah Ying is injured, ok lar
And thats 4 tournaments in a row.....................really crazy, plus still nursing an injury...poor ah ying !!
Ah Ying has waist injury. Come back a few days from Uber, play in Sgor Open. Then must play in Europe tourmeys to maintain ranking for OG, tsk tsk. Good thing not both of them have to play this crazy schedule.
Ya, saw her holding and rubbing her waist and back throughout the natch yesterday. Hope she recovers fast. Want them to qualify for the OLY 12.
5 tournaments in a row for GLY! UC qualifiers, Selangor Open, German Open, AE, Swiss Open. They must be mad! Why force her to play in the local circuit!?
GLY was really uncomfortable and irritated in Sgor Open, if she doesnt rest to heal then going to GER GP is a waste of time in my opinion. CPS was definitely influenced by his partner bad mood during their match against LCW/Vivian. Their coach should realize that this is dangerous as her back injury may get worse..
Congrats to Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying to enter AE semifinal for the 1st time (premier event), and 2nd semifinal appearance this year (1st time in homeland Malaysia SS)...
Firstly, credit for getting into the next round. But the job is by no means completed. 2 more matches to go to win the AE. GLY is really quite the player. I may be overstating this, but in terms of all the female mixed doubles players, she is really probably only behind the majestic duo of Ma Jin and Liliyana Natsir. Not even Zhao Yunlei, Ha Jung Eun has the sort of presence that GLY does. She seems to have nerves of steel and plays with so much attacking flair. The two Danish girls also have their strengths, but they don't come close to GLY. Which brings me back to CPS. He seems a bit more sharp at AE than at MAS Open, and movement on court is a bit smoother. He can smash hard, but I think he needs to make them count a bit more. Few times he was smashing, and then the opponents managed to counter-attack. Maybe he needs some advice from Fu Haifeng or Jung Jae-Sung. This pair needs to cut down on the unforced errors. They could have beaten Adcock/Bankier in 2 games. Frankly, I felt that GLY/CPS should have directed more attacks at Adcock rather thank Bankier. I also think they should vary their game a bit more. Seems quite one-dimensional. Should they play against opponents who change tactics in the game, they may not be able to cope as well. Needs more input from Rexy. Anyway, it's very easy for me to say all of this from the comfort of my couch at home! Go GLY/CPS!!! Malaysia is indeed proud and behind you two all the way!!
