Last week I read on www.badminton.de that Xu Huaiwen will retire this year. She already reduces her training and is not really sure about playing WC this year.. After her career she wants so study in US and her husband wants to work in tourist agency. But she will stay german She does not want to work as a coach etc. because she has no more motivation for her sport. I have no website in english.. so i had to translate the german information i wish huaiwen the best for her future and thank her for playing badminton for germany
Thanks for the info.. ..hmm, i wonder which part of the U.S. will she continue her study. Wouldn't be bad if she could take part in the U.S. Open or U.S. SS tourneys in the future, during her study..
^^Thanks for confirming..^^ ..on her planned city to study in. Yeah, i was just thinking maybe she could play as an independent, since the U.S. Open is a 3*/GP tourney (different story if there is the U.S. SS in the future).
Even with Xu in Germany all this time cannot advance baddy, now with her retiring, later will be followed by Pi. MAS after LCW, INA after TH, DEN after PG, KOR with no great hope coming up...and only CHN has a succession in place to continue dominate this sport, baddy is fading and losing interest with more empty seats to show
Good decision, what wants to be live in a country owing tons of debts and with poor social benefit. I like watching her play. She doesn't have the height and power like the other top female Chinese players but she is a great fighter never give up. We will miss her.

Yes, that's why I said Hu made a good decision to stay as German and not trying to move to US permanently.
Xu will study in Seattle and will coach as well...she went there early January this year... She loves the city so much....
Empty seats in Germany and Canada maybe... but not in Istora Jakarta yet... And as for China, yes they are very good, but INA, KOR, and MAS can still compete with them... Notably INA and KOR... we have done our part in also winning gold medals at the Olympic [consistently]...
INA fans sure support baddy, that is a given. Pack house sure in INA and MAS but empty seats not only in CAN and Germany but in KOR too. The recently concluded CAN Open drew only 40 fans, as reported by Badzine!!! For now, INA, KOR and MAS can compete with CHN but with no up coming hopefuls, there ain't much competition in future, only competition would be between CHN players.
In that case, I have to execute my secret plan [taking the idea of Xu Huaiwen moving to Germany]: I will marry Reiko Shiota, Carolla Bott, Wang Yihan and Wang Lin... thus automatically make them INA citizens. And I will get the hoards of Bao Chunlai fans to woo him... one [or more, max 4 in INA] can become Bao's wife and automatically make Bao an INA citizen. Chen Long is also reasonably good looking, I think I can arrange for some INA fans to woo him and make him an INA citizen too! As for MD and XD... INA can manage without Chinese imports. WD... errr... somebody else from INA have to get Zhao Yunlei-Cheng Shu and 'convert' them to become INA players... We will let China keep Du Jing-Yu Yang... See... we can re-balance the world badminton order through love and immigration...
Maybe you want to export your INA tomboys to CHN in exchange for said CHN players. They can keep Du/Yu company [AHEM] .
she was there for almost a week.....I forgot the club name but it is owned by Japanese american...they have pursued her since last year....
