http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Saturday/Sport/2540432/Article/index_html Badminton: Pei Tty-Eei Hui promise to do their part for Malaysia By : K.M. Boopathy WONG Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui have never had it good in the Sudirman Cup since their debut in 2001 but the duo are bent on seeing Malaysia break into the top four in Guangzhou on May 10-17. Pei Tty-Eei Hui, the women's doubles World No 1, are confident of delivering against most of their rivals but feel that favourites China and three-time winners South Korea will be tough to beat. However, they don't have to worry about China, seeded third, as the six-time champions will not be in the same group as fourth seeded Malaysia in the preliminary rounds. If Malaysia are lucky, they can also avoid being in the same group as the Koreans who are seeded sixth and this will be known when the draw is conducted in Guangzhou today. "We are looking forward to a good tournament this time and our objective is to deliver a point in every match. It will be tough against China and South Korea but we have good chance against others," said Pei Tty in Bukit Jalil yesterday. "Since we will not be in the same group as China, we have a better chance of advancing to the semi-finals and our role is quite important. "I'm not too worried about our chances against Denmark or Indonesia even though we will be in the same group with one of these teams. "The mood is positive in the team and the players are quite serious about the Sudirman Cup. "This is because we have a genuine chance of winning a medal for the first time and we will give it our best shot." The seedings were based on the No 1 player or pair in the five events and this made Denmark the top seeds while Indonesia are seeded second. World No 1 Lee Chong Wei, who is one of the players invited for the draw today, was also hopeful of seeing Malaysia in an easier group to ensure a semi-final spot. Malaysia's best placing in the Sudirman Cup was sixth, which they achieved twice, and if the players can stay true to their current form, the semi-final target is not too much to ask for.
