Both are certainly more powerful. Retain tension. a hell lot better. Much better value for money in the long run too. But I personally don't like the feel of them. It just doesn't suit me. I prefer the harder feel that you find with like BG80 and 85.

Having tried all three, certainly understood the harder feel of VS850. ZM62 & 65 played out differently to VS850. While appreciating all three, so far found VS850 to b quite promising, except for the fast tension loss

Yes. The tension loss especially at mid 20s is horrible if you're a feel player. I'm seriously considering migrating back to BG 80 now

I've been using 850 for 5 years. I wouldn't say it is that bad. But I've been wanting to dial down my tension anyway. And BG 80 is most certainly harder at a lower tension.

At 30lbs, how long did the tension last until u feel the tension dropped? Plus how many hours of play per wk?

Have to weigh the pros n cons of this string before committing

I use 30lb, play 8-10 hour a week It drops a pound or 2 in that period but I prestretch first.

Probably lasted 2 weeks worth of regular play for me XD Played a total of..32hours with it since I got it over the span of 3 weeks. I don't ever pre-stretch though.

Interesting how the the old package says Power but the new one say Control. I would probably agree with the newer packaging but this is still my favourite string. BG80 is probably the most similar to it for me which I also like a lot.

One strange thing for me is that the white VS850 reel string feels a bit more slippery and has slightly less texture than a 10m packet. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've found my reel of white 850 is more textured than the packs of yellow and black I've had.

Interesting, maybe it depends on the batch of reels that you get?

I've tried an old Mark A string job. It's convinced me to try vs850 again. Around 26lb and will try and get all the creep out when stringing (dropweight) very slowly so no need to prestretch as I think I did it wrong before. It's currently at 1190Hz which I think is about 27lb, sweetspot is a little small but the feel, power and sound are awesome and that was only on plastics.

VS850 really benefits from being stretched around a doorknob before use, especially when your machine has no prestretch.

A couple of observations from stringing this yesterday at 25x26. It pings the same as Zymax62 at the same tension. Weaving was an absolute breeze! Shared holes were easy too but I widened them with my awl.

I don't think I'll be taking this stuff past 32 again... opened my bag earlier to find it broken in two places. How does that happen?!

Abused grommets? I forgot to rotate mine on your old revelation and it lasted 5 minutes into my game at lunch. One pack left to decide if I want more of this stuff...

Couldn't have been - main #5 had snapped on the left and right, and the broken ends of the string were at opposite ends of the frame, so they must have gone in the middle.

Ye gods, I'm glad I wasn't anywhere near that when it went... from the middle to the edge of the frame?!

Is it just me or has anyone taken notice of the unpleasant smell of this string? The smell is kinda close to factory chemical byproduct. Rackets compartment now stinks...
