best for of 2008 would probably be (in no particular order):

    setiawan/kido
    yong dae/jae sung
cai yun/hai feng (although absent from super series masters)
KKK/boon heong (after a great showing at the super series finals)

If solely based on SS, GP Gold, GP titles, and the Olympics:
    (1) Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (4 SS titles and Olympics Gold)
    (2) Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae (4 SS titles and 1 GP Gold)
    (3) Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif (2 SS titles)
    (4) Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun (1 SS title, 1 GP Gold and Olympics Silver)

    The remaining pairs:
    (5) Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen (1 SS title and Olympics SF)
    (6) Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (1 GP Gold and 2 GP titles)
    (7) Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man (1 GP title and Olympics Bronze)
    (8) Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong (1 GP Gold and SS Masters Final)
    (9) Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo (1 GP Gold)
    (10) Several pairs that won 1 GP title each: Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah; Fran Kurniawan/Rendra Wijaya, Howard Bach/Bob Malaythong Khan; Vitalij Durkin/Alexandr Nikolaenko

Talking about the top 4 Mens Doubles pairs of 2008

    .
If we are just talking about the top 4 Mens Doubles pairs of 2008, surely Fuzzy's should be included.

They have defeated many top pairs in the last 12 months. And their Ranking supports it too.

The only absolute entries in the Top 4 is MK/HS and LYD/JJS.
The remaining two spots is up for grabs between CY/FHF, LP/JR, KKK/TBH and Fuzzy pair. I wouldn't have any quarrel with any of the above pair.
