I hope Darren Liew is not suffering from the pressure of the burden of expectation like Lee CW - too early for him to get this disease, just kidding.

Although NTM is playing at the SEA Games, his mind is at the Hong Kong Open.

This time I prefer to watch Anneke Feinya Agustine/Nitya Krishinda than Vita Marissa/Nadya Melati.
Feinya is just too cute and very girly. [IMG]

I actually thought his main problem is his fitness, can see that he cannot sustain the pace in the second game. But i actually think that his game is quite good if you guys watch him play in the first game against both taufik and simon,if he can solve his fitness problem and maintain the level he displayed in the first set for the whole match i think he will be a threat to others top player. What do you guys think?

Derek said he watched NTM s videos as part of match preparations. I don t think NTM prepared for Derek at all since Derek is nowhere in rank or unknown. An improving unknown with a lot less match experience but makes up for it with thorough video homework is a most dangerous opponent to a known player who underestimates him. Derek s tactics surprised NTM so panic set in and NTM just gifted Derek with his errors. Video homework is a key element in match preparations nowadays because tactics can be devised in advance. This creates confidence and soothes nerves, giving some level of awareness of and control over the higher ranked opponent. Apparently Spore match preparations is similar to CHN. Minus the rote training. But backed up by sports psychologists. Derek also employed a famous CHN trademark: delay tactics to slow down NTM s momentum. It would be nice if Derek can win in a more Spore way. He is not expected to defeat Simon.

Not surprised really. Sudket/Saralee are very experienced and should expect to win that match (which they did 21-11, 21-14)
