I forgot to ask earlier but... are those USG (u-shaped grommets) on the sides?

I'll pm you about the cool orange Ashaways lol :p

Also, assuming my eyes are not deceiving me at this hour... but
The 7900's frame does not look as widebody as previous Gosen models... and that the racquet design looks similar to some of the recent yy designs, how to put this... kind of like a box + aerodynamic shape combined?

Too bad they didn't use the new grommet system, its so much easier stringing ns9kx rather than having to work into shared grommet spaces lol... but then again upon closer look of your pics... are those shared grommet holes slightly larger than normal?

Thanks for your time & input :D

    Cheers.

Gosen is the other competition for yonex which is also Made in Japan. I am also interested to buy this racket but I can't find any specific model for double player. I prefer headlight/medium or stiff racket/light weight. Can anybody help me?

According to the Gosen America website, the Aermet 6900 is also available in yellow/black version.

    Yes you're right Sealman.

The burgundy yellow is the Boonsak Edition.

I don't know for sure but...
I have not seen the Japanese vendors updating their sites with these 2 models yet...

I also hope they have 3 1/2" diamter grip size for these lovely pieces :D
If not I'll stick to carbonex

Viper2005 did you add the USG(U shaped grommets) near the T- joint? Cause the gosen website doest have it and the 6900 doesnt also. Or thats what yur referring to "The new 7900 has dual-grommets on the sides with some vibration absorbers, Power Cavities on the inside of the frame (big holes). "

I was wondering if anyone can give quick summary of differences b/wAERMET 6900 vs 7900.

I just saw the price is about US$159. In general, both have the same price or one is more expensive than another?

    I really appreciate it.

    Thanks

In Korea, there is no 7900, but we have this 7800, which is black and gold. I can't find anything like it on the Chinese, Japanese, or American websites. Two guys in my gym have the 6900. I'd like to try it but I can't afford it. Oddly, the shop near our gym where I bought my 5 Gosens has stopped getting any new Gosen stuff.
No kidding. The Japanese catalogue often looks like it is for a completely different company. It doesn't even have any x700 models. Gosen America has the 5700 but no other x700s. China and the English catalogue from Gosen Japan have 1700, 2700, 4900, and 5700 but the latter also has a 3700 whereas the former does not. In Korea, we have 1700,2700,3700,5700 and also a pink 4700 but no 4900. It is all very confusing. The Denmark site has nothing newer than 3 years old (5300,3600,2400).
Three and a half inches in diameter! Even Ri Myung Hun wouldn't need a grip that large.
I remember seeing a price of C$280 for a 5300 years ago on the website for one Toronto shop, probably Brown's, but there are no Gosens there now. At the same time San Diego Badminton Supply used to sell the 5300 at an amazing US$105 in the U.S. SDBS has next to nothing now. From what twinshk says, the US prices are still likely the far better deal. It would almost be cheaper to drive to Philadelphia and buy a 6900 for US$159 than to wait for an Ontario vendor to sell it to you for C$280 + 15%! Our prices here are very high for the 6900, too. It is 210,000won.

Yes, I added the dual grommets at the T-Joint. Got bags of them.:D:D

I've played with both 6900 & 7900 and both feel about the same in power, control, balance. Good all around racket for offense and defense. The attractive paint job makes a good conversation with other players. Not many players in my gym have seen or used a Gosen racket b4. Everyone wanted to give it a swing to try it.:D

I would say that it is a serious racket for any serious games...$$$$$.
I'll stick with my Kason U3 racket for fun games.:p

    Viper,

Could you state any differences between the 6900 and 7900? mainly on the physical aspects (are they equally stiff? weight balances?)

according the the specs on paper, the 7900 is stiffer.
when I played with it, I can confirm that 7900 is stiffer.
balance is the same, cuz I added a grip on both.
