Wee Kiong-Hee Chun have not trained together with Kien Keat-Boon Heong at the national training camp since coming under the charge of coach Tan Kim Her in February. They only get matchplay, once or twice a week. Wee Kiong said that he considered the chance to spar with them as a “life-time experience”. “It is a privilege for us to be used as sparring partners for Koo and Tan. This exercise will benefit us. We hope to learn as much as possible from them,” said Wee Kiong before leaving with the team for London yesterday. Wee Kiong and Hee Chun are seen as the pair to take over from Kien Keat-Boon Heong as the country’s No. 1. They did well to reach the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in Johor Baru last month by beating Kien Keat-Boon Heong. “We went on to win the Kedah Open title, which was our first title as a pair. We also took part in the recent Macau and Taiwan Opens. “It has been hectic but we are certainly growing as a better pair in every tournament. Hee Chun-Wee Kiong, who bagged the Johor Open title in July, have to beat South Korean fourth seeds Ko Sung-hyun-Yoo Yeon-seong to avoid an early round exit in the first Super Series tournament since the World Championships in Paris last month. But the pair, who now train under Tan Kim Her, should have nothing to fear. An upset win against the Swiss Open champions could earn them a place alongside world No. 1 Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong for the Guangzhou Asian Games in November. The match between Lin Dan and Park Sung-hwan takes top billing with the Olympic champion from China looking to avenge an unexpected quarter-final defeat by the Korean at the world meet in Paris last month. The aspiring doubles shuttlers have been named in the Asian Games squad together with defending champions Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong for the challenging mission of winning glory for the country at Guangzhou, China, from Nov 12-27. And hopes are high on the youngsters to emulate their more illustrious seniors, Kien Keat-Boon Heong, to pull off the unexpected in their maiden Asiad appearance. Four years ago, Kien Keat-Boon Heong were not given a ghost of a chance when they made their debut at the Asiad in Doha but they stunned everyone to end the country’s 36-year wait for a gold medal. During selection, they were in their best form and showed great potential,” said Kim Her in a telephone interview from China. “It is unfortunate that they (Mak and Tan) did not go far in the ongoing China Masters in Changzhou. But we hope that this is just a minor setback and they will bounce back quickly.” At the China Masters, Hee Chun-Wee Kiong went down 16-21, 9-21 to fourth seeds Ko Sung-hyun-Yoo Yeon-seong of South Korea in the opening round on Wednesday. The inclusion of Hee Chun-Wee Kiong, ahead of two other seasoned campaigners – Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif-Hoon Thien How and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Ong Soon Hock – is mainly due to their impressive feat of beating Kien Keat-Boon Heong for the first time en route to reaching the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in Johor Baru in July. The duo do seem to fear no one but their weakness is their inability to maintain quality performances consistently. This, however, can be improved with constant drilling during training sessions. Besides, based on the world rankings, the duo are the top ranked back-up shuttlers under the guidance of Kim Her. They are not like Koo/Tan, not as talented, won't rise as fast, and none of them are experienced in big matches But then, although I am happy that they are selected, they should try to fight hard against Ko/Yoo later. They must know that if they are the 2nd MD, they must be up to the task to go up against strong opponents like Ko/Yoo. Might not be ready for the task but at least they gain some exposure and experience. Hope they prove that they are chosen on merit... Recently not good form

I think he's refering WS kot -as you know Wang Lin is WC this year. Chai Biao/Zhang Nan have won a title - 2010 German GP, ZN is 2010 AE winner in XD. But of course they are not WC, only Fu/cai are. Mak/TWK havent won title, CPS/LKW have- 2009 Thailand GP Gold

Should be better than China Master..........because KSH/YYS have to play untill final against Cai/Fu........ so there will be a 'tired' factor for KSH/YYS, but Mak/Tan who lost in 1st round and relaxing untill Jap Open next week.....very fresh!
