Sony, if you are still in love with Yonex, why change ? oh maybe Simon received the presents sooner than you, or maybe ....

Victor & Li Ning came in, and gave literally tore apart what Yonex had here. Another crunching blow for them and with the imminent arrival of Adidas, it's not looking great for them at the moment. They're left with just Japan (loyalty) and Malaysia now. If BAM did the same thing as PBSI, then how many BAM players would still be with Yonex?

Anyway, this is a good decision. Great for the players. :)

It is very true. New Scheme that PBSI applied to the players are really beneficial to other brand than Yonex and to the players as well as INA badminton in general. However, if Yonex still want to secure the sponsorship, they can do it, since it is open bidding. However, for me it seems that Yonex do not want to strive for it, hence the opportunities are gone. Victor enjoys the most, followed by Lining, Astec & Flypower. It is a miss opportunity by Adidas though, IMHO.

    M. Kido sponsored Flypower...
Prince Hidayat will still be with Yonex as long as he is still active in the international badminton scheme.

so we will soon see new batches of yonex sp racket without pbsi logo on the cone? its a sad event for yonex after dominating for so long. professional endorsement very important for racket makers.

so is it almost the end for the evil empire?

I don't think so, Lee Chong Wei is still their posterboy and as long as he's still winning, they'll always have someone flying the Yonex flag. Not to mention that their sales are still quite high worldwide.

On a side note though, I do agree Adidas have missed a golden opportunity to make inroads into Indonesia.

Age doesn't matter as long as he's winning.. If that desire and commitment he's still there, that is all that matters.

Taufik, regardless if he wins tournaments or not, he will still get sales. These guys provide inspiration to kids and players around the world.

Really an end of an era, no more Indonesian team attire. means shirt: 12054 will be the last. Sad not to see Sony Dwi Kuncoro in Yonex.

In my opinion, the problem for Evil Empire will come after LCW and TH retires. They do not have figure for their brand ambassador. They have lost Axelsen. Evil empire will hope for another star to emerge soon enough.

The reign of evil empire has been lasting since the 70s. They still sponsor many international tournaments. Following the retirements of both TH and LCW, there're still some WS and MD sponsored by them.

The current sponsorship system are more colorful, and this might be a double-edged sword for the development of badminton to its future. Let's see whether all of these recent changes bring lots of positive impact... or otherwise....

    IMO

Well, it appears that most of the "heavy" coaches have opted for Yonex allegiance! :D

Rexy's name doesn't show up yet, maybe still waiting for the right offer? I was kinda hoping he'd plump for Flypower or Astec... ;)

One this is for certain: the INA team sure is going to look even more colourful from now onwards! :D

Umm... I don't think Rexy will be joining the list. He is not coach.
