It looks like the racket is counterfeit. Just to re-verify it, please you re-take a clear picture of the cone. Take it in macro mode if your camera supports it.

Fireslash, did you purchase these rackets?

As you are aware, shopping inquires do not belong here. This thread is for people who own rackets as stated in the first post of the thread.

    real or fake?

I have a chance to purchase a Muscle Power 99 but I think it may be fake because the shade of yellow is brighter then my friends MP99

    Shaft serial: 5880136
    Cone code: 207162SP

If someone can let me know it would be greatly appreciative,

    Thanks

I'm holding the racquet in my hand as I'm typing this! I told the guy I would take it but want to make sure that it's real.
Can someone please let me know if it's real or fake, or do I have to actually give the $130 to find out that I wasted it

I think if you read the date code, you will know soon enough.

Day 20, month 71. year 06. I think it is a fake racket because month 71??? There are only 12 months per year:). It would be appropriate if you post your inquiry in the 'market place' section next time. Sometime it happens that someone post a question in the wrong thread, they maybe new to these forum but it wouldn't hurt our fingers to guide and help them with their questions. Just my 10 cents...

When it comes too repetitive, people get tired of it.

The thing is, that they do not read the first post which clearly indicates its for owners.

Thank you very much. This is my first time in the thread and although you guys look at it and see month 71 and put a smily face. I really have no idea on how to spot a fake racquet, but I do appreciate the help. Next time, I will infact look to post my question somewhere else

Well I think people tends to skip the 1st post. Why don't we change the thread title?....if it's possible. I think many people will not notice the 'your' word on the title. Maybe we should make it clearer...:)

    i.e

Post your Yonex serial numbers here! (NO SHOPPING ENQUIRIES!!)
Post your Yonex serial numbers here! (YOU MUST OWNED THE RACKET!)
Post your Yonex serial numbers here! (NO EBAY ENQUIRIES)
Post your Yonex serial numbers here! (PLEASE READ THE 1ST POST FIRST)

Maybe this will help a bit...

This forum does have resources on how to determine a fake racket. Of course I am one of the people can easily tell fakes via visuals.

About the date code, this information is easily found on post one of this thread by clicking the link in there, which allows the person to understand what the serial number means which includes the date code.

That's why, sometimes if the user is just posting without doing some form of research, we can tell.

Tell your friend in the badminton club that this racket is a FAKE.
The serial & date code does not even come close to matching....
