Hi all, I'm a female in Uni looking for other females to play badminton once or twice a week in the evenings/weekends (currently wondering if there are any reading this at all!). I consider myself a well-rounded athlete with good agility, and I used to play mixed doubles as well as other team sports - ie. basketball. So I guess my level of play is intermediate? And I also don't mind playing mixed again too!

Since I'm picking this up again, naturally I'm a little rusty, but can pick up fast. Just looking for people to play with regularly for fun / little friendly competition if offered. :)

If anyone wants to play, please message me. Or if anyone wants to suggest where I can play with you, feel free to message as well! Thanks!

    I play @ L'Amoureaux Badminton Club @ Warden & Finch.
    MON-THU-FRI (7PM - 10PM)

Membership is closed but you can probably come and play as a guest. ($10 a nite).

if you are a student, you can join mandarin's student membership, new people:
$30 one time initation fee, $30 from may1st to sept15th, so $30 is for 4.5 months, plus for each visit $5 fee applies, valid only after 3:30pm.
    http://www.mandarinbadminton.com/membership.html
i think this is the best offer out there, because the courts there are nice (matted and cushioned) and $5 per visit is good compared to some places which is $10 night.

ummm....until then, you can find places like l'amoureaux rec centre, they have sessions on tuesdays 7-9pm, 9-11pm. starts on april 7th, $5 per visit. just enter thru the rec center and go downstairs to the gym.

unionville high school has badminton saturdays 7-9pm , $5 per visit

i am planning to visit thornlea secondary school on wednesday, they have badminton 8-1030pm, $4 per visit, lemme know if you are interested

    deadman85 is right.

If your budget is tight look into the places he mentioned. Actually the best thing is to try them all out and see which one suits you the best - based on location / timings / how the club is run / level of players / age group of players, etc, etc.

I tried a few clubs myself till I settled on L'Amoreaux.

    Good Luck with your search!

oh nevermind, i guess the gym is only open for rent

** Centennial College will be undergoing extensive renoations. Construction of a bew 12 court gym, running track, cardio and weight training facilities, will start in Sept. 2010. The new facility will be open to the public. Unfortunately the badminton club will be closed for the approximately a year. If you leave an eamil or join the gourp, we will contact you when the club opens.

    Thank you for your support!

Sorry dude...don't know any coach Steven there. I know they have badminton pretty much everyday there but drop by and pick-up a summer drop in schedule if you're interested.

I think he was talking about Centennial Community Centre in Markham. Just north of Markville. Hwy7 and McCowan. I went last week but no players...

Are the lessons through the community center program or lessons during the drop-in?

    Thanks
