Well, ZYL maybe be a better overall double player But I think MJ is a better player in XD. In HKO final, MJ played better, the XC was outplayed by ZN.

This win in WD deserves a big congratulation! The murmur about their lucking into an Olympic gold should stop now.

Honestly ZYL made a lot of mistakes. I think TQ held up the fort long enough for the opponents to wear down, and ZYL cashed in on her hard work. Not that I can't understand it; ZYL has 2 events, so she can't exactly give it her all and expect to be standing for the second final.

No question that TQ played very well in the match. She smashed almost as hard as WXL.

ZYL has always been a high-risk, high-reward player (see my very first post). I'd like to see fewer errors but can't argue with her achievements.

sorry, although i'm salute her achievements in OG, but she almost won't win the gold in WD you know. she was lucky LOG using round robin system, not knock out since the beginning like previous OGs. and more ever, her team's lost caused bigger impacts to the CHN team.

but all those are past already. maybe that's what called fate. :)

Zhang Nan will be spending 50% of his XD time with other female players.

it looks like ZYL will be retiring in less than a year. just my guess.

Yup. The story started with the registration list for Korea Open showing Cheng Shu partnering with Zhao YunLei again. As much as I like CS/ZYL together, this is indeed a head-scratcher.

The registration list for Malaysia Open will be released next week. Let's see if this is just a one-time experiment or a permanent change.

This is strange. I can understand Zhao Yunlei partnering with an up-coming player like Tang Jinhua to train her. But why partner with Cheng Shu? Cheng Shu is a quality and experienced player, but nowhere near the level of Tian Qing.

Who will Tian Qing partner with, then?

Oh wow! That is pretty exciting news. I have a feeling Bao/Tianqing will be unstoppable. I regard Bao Yixin as the best up-coming frontcourt player in the world. She's already top 3 in the world, but I think her potential is better than even Ma Jin, Zhao yl, or Yu Yang. Bao is the future dominant player in women's doubles.

And Tianqing herself is quite a good player, 2nd only to Wang Xiaoli from the backcourt.

It seems like CBA chose to sacrifice Zhao Yunlei for Bao yixin. A bit of a cruel move...but its obvious that Bao is a better player than Zhao. Will Bao steal Zhang Nan away as well?

maybe all of these change have something to do with ZYL new activity in politics? so CBA choose to sacrifice her with CS, and create another potential woman double in the form of TQ/BYX? but just my personal guess.

anyway, ZYL has no regret in her career already. 2 OG gold medals, WC in XD, AG gold medal in WD, what is there for her to win again? so it's totally okay if she want to focus in a new career now.

Zhao YunLei will team up with Cheng Shu again for the upcoming Korea Open. Zhao YunLei will not attend the Malaysia Open. We may have to wait until German Open or All England to find out if the reunion of ZYL and CS will stay.

Their last appearance at the Korea Open ended golden.

Zhang Nan should pair with Bao for XD. I dont think Tang will be a great XD player, she's more of a back court player i think.

Who is Yau? Is he a new young player?
