because Indonesia is (or was) the Men Double power house

i vote for Markis Kido.. because there is a lot of jumping involves.

actually, i don't think he can smash very steep without jumping... :D

Now Indonesian MD pairs are not as good as few years back.
Now China, Korea and Malaysia is better.

    Just like West Indies cricket....
although West indies have deteriorated seemingly beyond return... since 1995... that's 15 years....
before that they dominated cricket to amazing heights especially in the 70's-80's

Sleeping Garuda (Indonesia) will not be a match for Awakening Dragon (China). And tempe goreng is nothing compare to ginseng, kimchi and kombucha (Korea) hahaha LOL

lol thats a good one. But Garuda is a local terminology, internationally its should be called Phoenix :D the equivalent of the Dragon. And tempe (pressed soy bean) although may sound humble has more nutritions (that can prevent heart deseases) than kimchi which is merely just a veg. INA tempe should be at least equal to CHN tofu

Fu Haifeng has the most effective smash currently, and TBH also puts it to good use and is effective in Commonwealth but it isn't penetrating enough for top pairs sometimes.

One European I think of as a great smasher is Simon Archer from England, he may not be a good all round player but he definitely had a good smash, once he held the fastest smashing speed record.

One more player..Tony Gunawan stands out, his smashes may not be the fastest but accurate and angled foe maximum impact
