Chen Jin hopes to end losing sequence

World champion Chen Jin of China, who has endured a torrid season after failing to get past the second round in all the OSIM BWF World Superseries tournaments he has taken part in, hopes to bounce back in style in the YONEX SUNRISE Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold which begins with the qualifying rounds on Tuesday.

Chen Jin, has not won an Open title since his stunning victory in the World Championships in Paris last Augus,t has only one final appearance to his name in 2011, losing the German Open Grand Prix event to Lin Dan, the man he replaced as world champion in France.

But on Monday, Chen Jin and the rest of his Chinese team mates were working hard at the Stadium Sultan Abdul Halim in Alor Star.

A spokesperson said: “Chen Jin is determined to make up for his disastrous season and is determined to capture the title in Alor Star. The team arrived here on Sunday to get used to the conditions and we are confident he can redeem himself.

But it is going to be difficult for Chen Jin as he has world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei for company in his half of the draw.

The Malaysian has been in tremendous form and captured his third OSIM BWF World Superseries title of the year when he won the YONEX SUNRISE India Open Superseries on Sunday.

Chong Wei has played in five tournaments this year and has managed to reach the finals in all of them, winning four times.

Oh, I really hope he will end his disastrous losing sequence. He will have a match with his new nemesis Sho Sasaki soon. Jia-yo!

I won't be surprise if Chen jin emerged as the winner in mas open GP :D

Usually he doesn't make this kind of statement prior to a competition.

He must be training hard and looking forward meeting Lcw :)

    .
Yes, I found that CJ has found his good form again. :):):)

I watched a bit of that match (the 2011 Singapore Open SS Semi-Finals); WZM was quite frustrated whenever CJ was able to do better than him at whichever shot/rally they were playing. :):):)

We shall see how LD intends to play CJ on Finals Day.

Though I'm a big fan of CJ's, I'm not able to celebrate his winning again.
Anyway, cold water gave CJ a trophy, prize money, and an expensive massage chair.
I'm worrying that the world champ may not take part in WC this year.
If he will become the Chinese 3rd, could he compete in WC?

CJ was just too good for NTM winning the MSF 21-11, 21-12 of the 2012 Yonex Australian Open GP Gold tournament.
With this win, CJ has got 2 titles in a row and this could move his ranking to number 4 in the world and thus a place in the 2012 OG.
    Congratulations and well done CJ.

Repairs successful! All systems GO! :D

Good job by CJ so far. He may have won in GPG level tournaments, but the quality of the opposition was SS level for sure. I hope he keeps it all together and acquits himself really well at the OG, if he qualifies. He's also overdue for a dose of highly deserved good fortune. :)

Chen Jin just qualified as a side winger for Lin Dan. It's good news for Chen long as well, less pressure from now onwards! :D

Like Alan Y said, what if CL ends up in LD half, and CJ in Dato half. If Dato will to win OLY, Dato knows and fully expect he prolly has to go thru 2 CHN MS anyway, so maybe CJ is better to play than CL. My concern is CJ usually plays well in majors and has good success in London whereas CL is not. Let's see what Peter does at Euro Open and IND Open.
