Hahaha.. did this a few days back... 26cm, that's embarrassingly low, isn't it? Hahaha! I'm 154cm. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything to mark my wall, used water in the end, so my figure may be inaccurate.

Will try again soon when my sprained ankle heals.

Till then, anyone wants to go lower than 26cm? :p

well, i'm 15 and did 57cm(just short of 23 inches). but i'm super light. unfortunately, i never seem to get that high in badminton. if i do, i usual miss time it, due to the fact i'm not used to jumping so high.

Yeah..I feel like I'm jumping not as high in badminton if I tried. I can jump just vertically higher than if I jump during in badminton.:)

probably because you forget to bend your knees and swing your arms up when you go for a jump smash

Or maybe..I just think I'm jumping lower in a jump smash than if I do a vertical jump.

IMO, maybe because doing vertical jump, you get more preparation and time.. because your aim is to reach highest point possible right?
but in badminton, got less time to prepare jump, no point jump to the highest when you going to miss the shuttle. I don't think you will have enough time to move to under the shuttle, preparing to jump then jump as high as possible all the time. unless you have lightning footwork.

btw how to calculate the jump height? i was thinkin standing and try to reach highest point possible, then jump and try to reach the highest point possible and just subtract them. because if I calc from foot, standing then jump + bend my knee it won't be accurate right?

I'm about 5'7 to 5'8, and weight currently at 161 lbs. In high school, my vertical was about 22 inches (no running, just from standing to jumping), but i was also much lighter then (close to 140 lbs). Haven't tested it lately but it hasn't seemed to decrease that much. I'm not that old though, still in last year of college, so here's hoping the hops last!

You're giving me the shivers, now!! Psychics always do that...

But on a (relatively) serious note,
Most pro players seem to have 4 legs and 4 arms, so you're not that far off, in any case... :D

It's lucky you're not afraid of worms, what with where you live and all that. If you want to be as quick as the pro's you need to up your spice (melange) dosage...are we off topic yet?
