after his "injury", JOJ was a different player...but I think DL played well, he deserves a higher place in the world rankings...i think he can beat VA, who is currently in superb form
daren played like crap against JOJ... everything he did was wrong.... JOJ just had to give him some face to win... his smashes were all wrong.. his backhand hideous.. among the most hideous in badminton.. i am sure he is gonna play another terrible game in the finals against another superb and young danish player (ok .. i did the reverse jinx thingy also... . .i hope it works...)
This player Daren Liew has always had potential. If he plays well, he can break into the world top 20 in the next season. It all depends on himself actually. It's wether he wants to compete among the world 20 in the next season or be happy with gp tournaments for now...
And service return. It's almost always the same slice to the right. I've said this in another forum, but let me reiterate that Daren Liew has had solid victory against Sho Sasaki and JOJ in the past. Or perhaps there's something about the weirdness of his style that these 2 players can't seem to read well that gives him the edge. He along with Chong Wei Feng have some weird style of play that makes their moves really unpredictable.
The question is if he can maintain this form throughout the year.... otherwise his ranking drop back.
I think he might not be able to hold on to it for very long... my guess is he'll hold on to it for a week at least...

Don't think anyone is giving him the pressure though... Both players has got nothing to lose and reaching the final already is a big achievement for both of them..
He has change his racket from vt70 to vt80.i didnt realize that til last niteno wonder his smashes was like a missile
even Gillian (the commentator) is doing the reverse jinx... she said.. daren looks tired and exhausted... (we were in the second set).. right after she said it... daren let loose a crazy smash... and he kept scoring points after that. .prompting Gillian to say.. 'prove me wrong why dont you' or something like that... heheheheh
