BS15 vs LYD N I have vet through 8 pages of this thread. A few guys have requested for a comparison/review between the BS15 and LYD N. So far there is no reply. I am really curious to know how much they differ even though both have the same specs (HH 4/5 & Stiffness 4/5). Anyone care to provide a brief comparison?
Maybe the new clothes of BRS15 are the LYD(N)? I have a 4U BRS15 with NBG99 @ 24lbs. For doubles. Wonderful weapon.
The difficulty here is that so few players have BS15. This racket is not available in Europe so many of the BC readers are unable to answer your question comparing BS 15 and LYD. I suspect there will be a difference in the head mass as LYD has a wider head compared to other BS rackets. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I own a BS15, but only tested a LYD 1st Gen for few minutes, so I can only give you a simple comparison between the two. I found BS15 swing faster, and smash is much more powerful when comparing to LYD. But that is ONLY if you can hit the sweet spot of BS15! For net play and defense, both rackets perform about the same. LYD is more forgiving to play with, it's average in all area, but doesn't shine in any of them, except maybe in mid-court (sort of like the Kason C7 that I used to own). Then again, there are hundreds of rackets that shine in mid-court...
I have tested the BS15 and BS LYD N. And this is my comparison All of the rackets have the same swing speed, very fast and smooth. But BS15 is a little heavier than the LYD, so the smash from BS15 is more powerful than LYD. Both perform great on the net and the back of the court. The BS15 is a good choice for Single play, and LYD is perfect for both Single and Doubles
I got the 3u BS15 about a month ago, and before I was using a 4u BS12. Personally, I love the BS15 more than I did the BS12. Even though it is head heavy, I feel like the racket delivers on defense. Smashing power on this is amazing, only if you can hit the sweet spot. Definately the best racket I have used to this day. (I have used Arc Saber 7, AT900T/P, VT80, Arc Saber FB, NR700RP, BS12)

Thanks for your review. I'm deciding between BS12 and BS15 rite now. Maybe I will go for BS15 Have you ever used BS12? Can you compare them?
I have both and to me, the BS15 is a little stiffer and has more weight in the head. But, it's sweet spot is smaller. Also, the handle on the BS15 is shorter than the one on the BS12.
It really depends... I am not a fan of long handles on rackets. The BS15 is really satisfying when you can hit the sweet spot, but there is also a weird feeling when you don't. I use the 15 when playing season is over and I only practice. The 12 is a great all around racket and I always have one as a spare since my actual go to racket is the MX60 and I can transition between both rackets without any trouble.
