Durability has yet to be determined but Panda suspects it's good. After testing VS850 extensively for 3+ weeks, here are Panda's results: First 3 hours of use after stringing: Power: Excellent Repulsion: Excellent Tension Hold: Excellent- Control: Excellent- Feel: Excellent 5 days after stringing: Power: Excellent- Repulsion: Excellent- Tension Hold: Good Control: Good+ Feel: Good+ 10 days after stringing: Power: Excellent- Repulsion: Excellent- Tension Hold: Average+ Control: Good+ Feel: Good Conclusion: VS850 is among the best strings Panda's ever tried for the first few hours. After that there is a significant drop in overall performance and then stabilizes. VS850 is a very good string but still not as good as ZM62, BG66 and MP in Panda's opinion.
Sir Dink, How about compared to the BG80? I like that the BG80 has a rough texture and fairly good durability although the tension does drop a fair bit after 2-3 days. It then stablises and has enough playability for 3-4 months. I am thinking of trying out the VS850 too...
re bs 10 hi sir how do u grade the bs 10 is it a good flexible racket im considering to have one . i hope its not too stiff . and esay to control the shuttle tnx pls comment.
If you're not looking for a stiff racket, I think you should look at the BS09...the BS10 is pretty stiff.
There are two versions of BS10 is available with different stiffness. For TW, it is flexible than CN version. For confirmation, please contact Victor directly. I got this information some other posts, you may search the forum for your confirmation.
exactly, which company VICTOR really is? a Taiwanese or Korean company? I went to purchase BS11 for about US$112 in Thailand (TH coded). But i couldnt find the 3U version of it anywhere in Thailand. So just had to settle with 4U, which isn't really suitable for me. Strung with NBG95 and i just used it for like.. 6x ever since i bought in May 2010 until now (play regularly twice a week). Didn't exactly get the feeling of head-heavy and powerful smash as it's claimed to be. Is it just a factor of string itself or 3U/4U version really make big differences? maybe i should re-string with VS-850?
Victor is a Taiwan company and HQ is also based in Taiwan. As for their rackets, the high-end ones are made in Taiwan itself and some are from China. For lower-end models its definitely manufactured in China. As for TH coded rackets, the Thailand distributor (under licensed of Victor Taiwan) preferred their rackets 4U as to suit their local market needs as most YY (Armotec series) are also 4U.
Thanks for the explanation. No wonder it is almost "impossible" to find 4U version of BS11 there! But i heard 3U BS11 is much better than the 4U. As for the price ranges, is there TH coded price lower than CH coded? just like Yonex did with SP, TH, CH, UK, coded rackets?
No mention mate. Yes BS11 3U version is more balance overall than a 4U version to me. 4U rackets are actually suitable for those with lesser wrist power/technique and also for some to compensate for the extreme head heaviness of certain models like the Armotecs for example. Pricing wise, TH coded YY are definitely cheaper than SP ones but I am not to sure for Victor. Maybe you can do a search in the forum.
With stiff racquet like BS 10, smash should be much easier to be executed, medium stiff will need more effort.
Tension holding is average only. It drops quite a fair amount (2-4lbs) if not pre-stretch properly. So its advisable to string around 29lbs++ (VS850 optimum tension) with 5% pre stretch and let it drop. Then the playability is very good and could last about 1-2 months depend on frequency of play. It is durable. So far so good and I am on my 3rd restring that the tension die off and not due to breakage.
I just restring my newly purchased Spira21 with VS-850 at 25Lbs but i will be able to touch it 2 months later. I asked my gf to do it for me, but she'll be using the racket for a while until Dec. Would the string still deliver its top performance by December? or should i re-string it again by then?
hmm..i just string it to 28lbs ECP. i did not order any pre stretch so i'm not sure if the stringer gonna apply some. normally i play at 26lbs..let's see how it goes

Yes 5% more than the tension you request, for example, if you request 25lbs, with a 10% prestrech, then the string would be streched to 27.5lbs, before being relieved to settle at 25%, it helps to hold tension, especially with strings like BG65 which lose tension so fast.
